24.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS WEIRDOs. From ANDY & JAIMEEs very first date (and awkward first kiss ) she was hooked on him. Luckily Andy found nervous giggly, silly Jaimee adorable too, and they quickly became inseparable (even though she tried to hide her crazy on that date, he saw glimpses of it, and he liked what he saw.)... Andy not only loves Jaimees crazy, he embraces it, and she adores his dad jokes, and his quirky DJ Andy dancing moves make her soul happy. One year ago, she told him she cant wait to have his big headed babies And he responded that he loves that they are both a little weird. guess what last week as their anniversary approached they had a baby (with the most gorgeous head youve ever seen.) And I got to marry them! AMAZING shot by @rawn_and_pallow_photography (who turned around a whole stack of edited images the very next day. Gotta love that.) . Loved these two who totally stripped back all the formalities and married in a short and sweet ceremony... allowing them to join in the reception fun much sooner. 23.01.2022 ALEX & STEPH Alex told Steph on Saturday that she was the luckiest women on the planet to marry him, He promised to be there even when shes hangry, and he advised her if she keeps sport on the TV and the beer fridge topped up, then shell have no trouble. What an honour to marry this sports mad groom to his super sweet and smart solicitor wife.... The emotions went to an all time high when Stephanies brothers Ryan and Nathan surprised her by reading a poem from heaven on behalf of her father Greg. During her vows, Steph acknowledged that women often marry men that remind them of their father. She said her Dad was funny, kind, patient and loved her mum unconditionally for thirty years. So its unsurprising she had chosen to spend her life with someone with similar qualities who makes her as happy as her dad made her mother. We laughed and cried. 23.01.2022 Yesterday was a great day!!! I took the fam for a drive in the country We drank old school milkshakes out of the big silver cups... and ate warm homemade scones with jam and cream. We shopped in antique stores, bought fresh flowers, the kids played in the fresh country air and I even rode a Clydesdale horse. Bareback. At the end of the day there was ice cream.... ......oh and JAKE & MEGAN got married. #YeahTheyDid! 20.01.2022 Im not too fab at sharing my personal life - mostly because I always forget, but mainly because I dont think people would be interested.... at all.. But yesterday a couple of people asked me if I could share more photos of our new life in the country. They said seeing photos of the kids + animals made them smile. So I will endeavour to try and post more behind the scenes chaos. I cant promise it will be amazing -(dont expect perfectly styled clean home + kids dressed in ...neutral linens) but its real and its fun and its mostly crazy at best. Bit of background - we moved to acreage life almost one month ago. I grew up in the country and thought it would be amazing to show our kids how neat our upbringing was. Plus their pestering for a horse had become a form of torture. So we are only 12 minutes to the heart of the Gold Coast but a world away. We have a big house block with a huge garden (that may not look too pretty soon,) an orchard with mango, macademia, advocado, cherry, berry and citrus trees, a big herb garden (that surprisingly I havent killed yet,) plus two paddocks and a creek. We moved in on a Thursday and had a horse by the Saturday. #PeerPressure and we are most defiantly learning every day. Its been so cool to see the kids prove how much they really did want a horse. Every morning I look out my bedroom window and watch their little gum boots heading out to the paddock for a cuddle and to feed our four legged friend. They take the binoculars and squeal with delight at the bird life, kangaroos, rabbits and wallabies that pass them by. Im pinching myself at the neighbours who live in our lane way and how friendly they are. Offering us horse rugs, bridles, even horse lessons and training... and a cold beer or two. Sometimes I feel like its all a dream and people couldnt be this nice. On weekends the kids literally play outside all day - by the end of the day theyre filthy and happy. We have not had TV and until last week had no internet - sitting around the open fire instead. (I know it sounds too idyllic and Im making myself wanna gag.) Pretty sure Ill soon be sick of the size of the garden and Ill be the one having to feed the animals and clean all the mud. But for now - amongst the chaos of what is 2020 - life is good. BEFORE PIC - taken at Nelsons Ghost town, before my nails were full of dirt and whilst my hands were still soft and I had rough hands of a gardener. But mostly because I dont really have any photos of me at our new place - see I told you I was crap. To be continued......

18.01.2022 When MAT and JAC told me they were having a Mexican themed festival vibe for their wedding. I HAD TO BE THEIR CELEBRANT! Guests camped out in the stunning Numimbah Valley, the farm where they were staying provided an incredible scenic backdrop, their golden retriever was in the bridal party....and did I mention that the next day guests were able to use the giant slippery dip and floating trampoline attached to the on-site dam!!! 18.01.2022 TAMARA & ANDREW. . I had a day of firsts on Friday! First time I conducted a wedding for the gals at @idodrivethruweddings .....and the first time Ive been pooped on by an Ibis mid-ceremony. .... Im not just talking a little poop. Im talking it came in waves, at first it came out like clumped sticky seeds and then it sprayed out like newborn baby poop. A poo-plosion. I was its target and that stinky bin chicken hit a bullseye. . I literally had Ibis poop running down my eyelashes, all through my hair, on my top and even in my pants! I had entered a dire SHIT-uation. . Just so thankful it did not land on my gorgeous bride or groom. 14.01.2022 THREE YEARS OF MARRIAGE EQUALITY - YIPPEE! Three years ago when Australians voted in favour of equality I remember thinking how amazing it would be to make history and officiate one of the very first same sex marriages. @tm_event_planning was quick on the phone and together with a team of legends we pulled together the most epic of weddings. ... Then, As the clock struck midnight on the 9th January 2018, I was the lucky celebrant to announce CRAIG & LUKE as HUSBAND & HUSBAND, the barn doors at @summergroveestate Estate then parted and fireworks exploded. It was a moment I will never forget. A day I will never forget. It was magic. We laughed, we cried and despite there being media from all over the world (8 x camera crews, newspapers and photographers) it still felt incredibly intimate and raw. We were a part of history, but more importantly we were part of a team who believed in love, in fairness and equality. 14.01.2022 SAMI & DANIJEL These two childhood sweethearts got engaged 7 years ago in front of a lighthouse. So it was kinda perfect that they married underneath a lighthouse too! So on their Sixteenth anniversary underneath the world famous Byron Bay lighthouse Sami and Danijel put a ring in it. As the sun set on gorgeous @wategosbeach their two boys made sandcastles on the beach .... and I made their Mum and Dad husband and wife.... We grabbed two enthusiastic and gorgeous witnesses from the beach who smiled, oohed and aahed as these lovers exchanged rings... And many loved up looks were exchanged too. It could not have been more intimate, spontaneous or perfect. 09.01.2022 Five years ago, I got to marry my brother......And not in a weird 'Game Of Thrones' kinda way. I was honoured be the celebrant that made it official between him and his beautiful soulmate Liesl. To top the day off - it was MY 100th WEDDING CEREMONY. Weddings are pretty darn special anyway, but this one hit me in the middle of the heart. It was such a beautiful day. ... 09.01.2022 Going my way? . If you asked me at the start of the year which roads I was travelling this year, I would have had a pretty clear answer on how I thought things would unfold. . Too be honest I have no idea which direction Im heading and no idea how this journey is going to end up! ... . Weddings are often booked in 18 months in advance - so my diary is usually locked in stone. But these days it changes on the daily. . 2020 is not quite shaping up the way I planned. . Im really feeling for my beautiful couples whove had to postpone weddings, (some several times,) and Im really feeling for my friends in the wedding industry. . For most of us 2020 has been a financial write off - we are still doing lots of work, preparing for weddings that we hope will come to fruition, doing loads of training and updating of our skills and rescheduling, (and rescheduling) dates, sadly we just not seeing the rewards pay off on beautiful wedding days. (The best bit.) . Im feeling really excited to do two weddings this weekend. Two beautiful couples that have already postponed once are able to finally marry. Yippee. . But Im also feeling a little sad that this week three more couples have postponed their upcoming days. . I totally get it - not having friends and family travel from interstate and no dancing is a pretty big deterrent for not locking in your big day. . It really is a weird journey we are all on. But were all in it together. Weddings now are just that little more special, the champagne tastes sweeter, the hugs are warmer and laughs are louder. . 08.01.2022 We turned our iso experience into the biggest gamble of our lives. Turning what was supposed to be an in person conference into a virtual experience for over 300. The hard part was... we didnt want it to be bland and boring. 07.01.2022 And thats a wrap! . Flashback to this time last week when @TheCelebrantSociety virtual conference came to an end. . My biz-babe partner @_johanna.kate and I celebrated by doing what any good-time gals would do whilst staying in an empty hotel.... . We marched right up to the bar and went right straight for the champagne. Yep, we showed that two story fridge whos boss. (Swipe to see!) . The past three months has seen us put the pedal to the metal totally rearranging an in-person conference at @seaworldresort to to a virtual platform. We learned a lot on the fly and stretched ourselves and we have to admit at the end we were almost too exhausted to pop the top off a bottle of bubbles. Almost. . Feeling incredibly proud that we pulled off Australias first ever OPD approved virtual celebrant conference with 18 presenters for over 300 celebrants in Australia, NZ, Canada and the UK. . The response from our attendees has been phenomenal. We still brought the learning, the good vibes and the fun and we are so grateful to our members for believing in us. . And pretty stoked that we get to work each day with a mad mate by my side continually pushing me to strive for more for our tribe and never failing to make each other laugh. 06.01.2022 LEESA & DESRAE met almost 14 years ago, DESRAE remembers thinking ...... ‘If this chick tries to crack onto me I’ll punch her in the face.’ Few weeks later and they were dating. They shared an extreme connection and she couldn’t deny it. Few months later they talked about getting married, she remembers telling LEESA they they should get engaged, but they should definitely wait until the next year.... Ever the smart arse and super impatient LEESA agreed, but proposed at midnight on New Years Eve . To be fair she did wait ‘til the following year. DESRAE said YES and then she dropped the ring and they watched it roll into the bottom of the Brisbane River . Small detail. The big detail is yesterday 13 years later they finally got married @cowbell_creek with their gorgeous 4 kids and their family and friends present. I first met the girls two years ago at the @samesameweddingsmagazine expo, we bonded over our kids (we have 7 between us.) At the time, they were not too sure whether they would have a wedding. After our first chat we were all crying and by the end of it they told me I was going to marry them. The plans have changed a lot since then, they had baby #4, Covid hit and life in general happened. 06.01.2022 I'm not too fab at sharing my personal life - mostly because I always forget, but mainly because I don't think people would be interested.... at all.. But yesterday a couple of people asked me if I could share more photos of our new life in the country. They said seeing photos of the kids + animals made them smile. So I will endeavour to try and post more behind the scenes chaos. I can't promise it will be amazing -(don't expect perfectly styled clean home + kids dressed in ...neutral linens) but it's real and its fun and its mostly crazy at best. Bit of background - we moved to acreage life almost one month ago. I grew up in the country and thought it would be amazing to show our kids how neat our upbringing was. Plus their pestering for a horse had become a form of torture. So we are only 12 minutes to the heart of the Gold Coast but a world away. We have a big house block with a huge garden (that may not look too pretty soon,) an orchard with mango, macademia, advocado, cherry, berry and citrus trees, a big herb garden (that surprisingly I haven't killed yet,) plus two paddocks and a creek. We moved in on a Thursday and had a horse by the Saturday. #PeerPressure and we are most defiantly learning every day. It's been so cool to see the kids prove how much they really did want a horse. Every morning I look out my bedroom window and watch their little gum boots heading out to the paddock for a cuddle and to feed our four legged friend. They take the binoculars and squeal with delight at the bird life, kangaroos, rabbits and wallabies that pass them by. I'm pinching myself at the neighbours who live in our lane way and how friendly they are. Offering us horse rugs, bridles, even horse lessons and training... and a cold beer or two. Sometimes I feel like it's all a dream and people couldn't be this nice. On weekends the kids literally play outside all day - by the end of the day they're filthy and happy. We have not had TV and until last week had no internet - sitting around the open fire instead. (I know it sounds too idyllic and I'm making myself wanna gag.) Pretty sure I'll soon be sick of the size of the garden and I'll be the one having to feed the animals and clean all the mud. But for now - amongst the chaos of what is 2020 - life is good. BEFORE PIC - taken at Nelsons Ghost town, before my nails were full of dirt and whilst my hands were still soft and I had rough hands of a gardener. But mostly because I don't really have any photos of me at our new place - see I told you I was crap. To be continued......

03.01.2022 ZERO F*CKS. Ive always loved weddings, but theres something about Covid thats made weddings that much better. People appreciate their loved ones that little bit more, the hugs are tighter, the laughter is louder, the champagne is sweeter.... and the post ceremony high is well... a Little Rock n Roll.... Love this shot of JEMMA & TIMs bridal party post ceremony. #HellYeah. These two had to postpone wedding #1, then change their venue and a whole lot of other plans.... but when they finally got the celebrate they did it gansta style. The funny thing is it was windy and pouring rain, in 2019 that would have been a disaster but as you can see in 2020 #zerofucks. To all the lovers out there who have moved plans, changed dates, cut guest lists and cancelled dancing. I know its not what you imagined - but remember the most important thing is that you get married. Yep, you get to annoy your favourite person for the rest of your life. Every week I am working with couples who are postponing weddings well into 2021 and after. I completely understand why - for some their friends and families cannot come and I understand whole heartily. Who knows when weddings will be the same. To the brave ones who are able to go ahead thank you for reminding me why I love this job and the people I marry so much. 03.01.2022 LOVE STORY . . BELINDA (with cute piggy tails) & (baby face baby-blue eyed) LANCE met when they were just 8 years old - they hit it off and were friends from day one. . Looking Back Belinda admits she always had a little crush on him, and mechanic Lance really liked Belinda, because she used to sit up the back of the classroom and help him read car magazines.... . They remained friends all the way through, then finished school and went their own ways. . Six years ago, I met Belinda when I married one of her good friends. Although she didnt have a partner at the time she said she knew then, that when she got married I was going to be her celebrant! #aww. . Then out of the blue, serendipity happened and 20 years since they had seen one another, Lance found Belinda on Facebook. He made contact, asked her if shes like to catch up. Romantically and in true Lance style he picked her up in his XW and took her to a local car meet. . The minute he saw her again, Lance felt happy, he recognised her big bright smile, her beautiful warm, caring personality and he loved how easy she was to be around. . Belinda remembered just how handsome Lance was, his smile instantly melted her heart and she was once again drawn to his kind and positive attitude. . From that day they have been inseparable - earlier this year whilst holidaying on the Great Ocean Road, Lance took Belinda for a walk along the sea wall at Apollo Bay. . He led her to some rocks upon the shoreline, and there standing at the very bottom of mainland Australia, looking over the ocean. With a super moon rising and waves lapping around them, he wrapped his arms around her and whispered I reckon you should marry me. . It may have taken them 32 years to realise that love was staring them in the face, but it was worth it, . . Loved marrying these two beautiful humans. Certainly a very special wedding. . 02.01.2022 GILLIAN & RYAN fell in love quickly. In fact Ryan can pinpoint the exact moment, there they driving on a winding country road to do a nature hike. As they chatted, he lowered his glance and his eyes caught sight of Gillian's collection of plastic dinosaurs that were blue-tacked to her cars dashboard. And in that moment, he realized he was in love. He also realised she was a little weird. But it didn’t matter because he knew he was in love with this little blue-tack dinasou...r loving weirdo and it felt all kinds of wonderful. We didn't find any dinosaurs in the Bunya Mountains yesterday but we did find the next best thing... Clydesdale Horses. Loved marrying you two yesterday infant of your nearest friends and family. 02.01.2022 SCOTT + INGUNN + BAGEL. . Scott & Ingunn were planning a big wedding in Norway, her homeland. But Covid got in the way. .... Instead they married one stormy morning at Burleigh Beach, with just his parents and their cheeky Beagle named Bagel present. . It was beautiful. So glad I got to be the lucky celebrant to marry these stunners..... and I also got to be photographer too - love this pic of their perfect little family. . Ingunn has gone back to Norway to practice law and Scott will join her there soon and once all this Covid drama is over they will celebrate with a big party over there! .
