They are called Wild Confetti and you probably already know them to be the no.1 party hire and event people in the west but this the first time Ive seen their supplies and im wowed! Makes me want to do my ISO party all over again with RAINBOWS! Great idea to brighten your bday or someone special that you know with a balloon that has a special message on it!... 23.01.2022 I knew this day would come... I MADE pizza Im half Italian and half Greek. You would assume Id be born knowing how to cook. Not the case. I work super hard to come up with interesting and wholesome meals for my family. I watch cooking shows, read recipes, video chat with mum and ring my Yaya! During ISO ive had up n down days in my kitchen. Ive been known to also throw a bag of 2min noodles at them when a new recipe doesnt work out Its only taken 39 years but final...ly, I made pizza from scratch today! I did a pizza zoom class with Chef Michel from @48hpizzaegnocchibar I signed up to learn all the secrets about making a good pizza from home in the oven. Naturally I had to go that step further because I didnt just want a good pizza I wanted a pizza that would shock my Italian mamma so I bought a wood fire oven. Chef Michel answered all our questions whilst demonstrating how to make the dough and even showed us how to make his most famous funghi pizza topping. I have to say my fav was the garlic pizza as the others need some work, I couldnt even get a circle shape first try. All respect to pizza chefs who make it look so easy Im very tired now after making 3 pizzas. If you want to do a class by zoom I highly recommend 48h pizza e gnocchi bar and their next class is Gnocchi - details on their website The last image is my first pizza that came from my standard oven at 220 degrees. The wood fire oven I took it to 350 degrees.

19.01.2022 Heres Aaron always waiting for the next snack, just like the kids. It takes love. It takes hope and it takes a good dose of sweets to get through a lockdown for our family. So our next reward for another successful week of remote learning, of living on top of each other, of getting through another week was to order this fabulous box of loaded cookies! We got an assortment of loaded cookies, kids cones and I even got a dog biscuit for a friend as we dont have a dog yet. Delivery is very reasonable but in our area it was free. There used to be a Hungry Jacks there and we used to all pile in the wee hours after a night at the Love Machine. Now it’s owned by Burgertory and Aaron and I dropped in to eat, as you can see from my teeth. Clearly my husband doesn’t notice these things anymore.... 14.01.2022 Do you have a kinder kid this year thats going into Grade Prep next year? We do! We think lol Our youngest Jacks bday is in December so hes right at the cusp of whether he goes to Grade prep next year or the year after! We thought that he was ready for next year but like many other Melbournians hes been at home and missed out on a long period of kinder this year. 10.01.2022 Its a sad day for businesses who wont open their doors today. Who dont know when or if they will ever be able to re open. Its even harder this time around for home schooling. Yes weve done it before but this time some of us feel a little more defeated. Some of us feel a little more exhausted. I wait for the kids go to bed so I can get out the snacks and binge Netflix only to find Im asleep so soon Its sad for kids so many that have missed celebrating birthdays or grade... 6s who should be enjoying their last few months of primary school with their peers. Its especially sad for the elderly who look forward to visits from their children and family but are now very much alone. The only thing Im sure of is that we are stronger together. Lets do the right thing together and there will be rewards and gratitude at the end - hugs and kisses for all. I love to read positive memes and affirmation each day. I love to share them too. It doesnt mean thats how the person is feeling its about how they WANT to feel. Stay positive, stay home.
09.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day!!! This is my dad. Behind me, stands a very supportive and funny dad. Today I had a fabulous box of goodies delivered to him hoping he could share it with my mum who hasnt been well. Unfortunately mums in hospital and all he wants is for her to return home well. It may be a difficult conversation if they reply that theyre not OK but it can change a life! Ill raise my hand and share that Ive experienced times recently where I have felt less than ok and hearing from my friends and just knowing that they cared was enough for me to get through.... 04.01.2022 Hey Melb families - we did it!!!! Schools out and so is the teacher I plan to throw my teachers hat off (far as I can throw it) and enjoy two weeks of nada! Well you know I lie when I say that since Ive got some activities planned for the boys but there will be no learningon purpose as we are all pretty tired. I do hope this is the last covid school holidays blog I ever have to write and Im glad that playgrounds are back on the list of acceptable things we can do safe...ly. Truth be told we havent hit a playgroundyet but its on the road map for sure. 04.01.2022 We knew the parks would be busy so we decided to head to the oval and try out these outdoor exercises that I saw on Insta. Clearly we look nothing like the insta people doing it but we had lots of fun. Im more of an instructor than a do er Yes the boys were very happy for Aaron to hold them up but when I did they were preparing themselves for a fall
03.01.2022 Home schooling v 110 Everyone knows ive been honest with my challenges in home schooling and an update... Ive been doing much better. The secret? Well for us weve decided to concentrate on Maths, English, Writing and skip all the extra stuff. Now with the lead up to Fathers Day I thought we should really do something other than my buying gifts. Whats more special than the gifts that kids come back with from the school hall? I loved that they came home choosing their own s...pecial gift. But this year everything is so different SO I decided that i was going to OUTSOURCE Art lesson this week to one of the businesses in Small Ideas because I really want to support those local ones to continue so that they will come out the other end of this! Now Artea Art School & Party Venue is located in Port Melbourne and have been with Small Ideas since the early days and YET i have never been because we have our own local art venue. Due to covid however, their art classes are now via Zoom so finally i could participate and it was FANTASTIC. Helen is the owner and mum herself and has such an animated and happy face and chatted so beautifully with the children which brought us all smiles given i must say my attitude changes from day to day. She taught the boys how to make a Fathers Day card, a monster mould out of Clay, how to draw dads favorite items using scratch card. Noah always wanted to draw dads car as its one of his prized possessions and she demonstrated in a way he could copy. ALL items were sent to us in Activity boxes a few days prior to the class so we had everything we needed. Artea has a variety of classes, ALL ages i promise, take a look! From using clay and making a mould of your pet to art fun for toddlers. I understand that its sometimes hard to get my elder one to participate in anything and the younger one just follows his lead. AFTER the class Noah was soooo happy that i convinced him to do it and that he was able to help his brother too - so big thank you to Helen, we will do another class shortly and I truly hope many of my members give it a go also.
