24.01.2022 This Friday we are offering you meals from the Indian state of Maharashtra, and cannelloni from Italy. Enjoy the simply spiced dishes from the west of India including a potato masala, moong dal, koshimbir salad along with fried pooris. All traditionally vegan with a gluten free option. Or choose a delicious, traditional baked spinach and ricotta filled cannelloni with an Italian potato salad. Cakes to choose from are nutmeg cake, gluten free polenta cake, Mexican chocolate cake and vegan biscuits and slices. Please order by Wednesday.

22.01.2022 We're on a break but that doesn't mean we aren't still searching for the best food we can bring you from this small planet. Look out for our Korean burgers when we reopen next Saturday 6th Feb. Scrumptious vegan patties, kimchi, salad and spicy ssam sauce in a fresh baked bun. Served with fries and pickles. All house made, vegan and delicious!

20.01.2022 Spent this afternoon preparing pickles for next weekend's Korean burgers. If you choose to be a veggie or vegan, sometimes you have to spend a bit more time in preparation to achieve those big bold umami flavours, but the results can be spectacular.

We hope you take care over the next five days and we'll see you next weekend when you can try our new menu addition, sayur lodeh; a traditional Indonesian dish of vegetables, tempeh and tofu simmered in a rich coconut sauce. 17.01.2022 We @smallplanetcafe are aware that many of you like to share our meals, so this Friday we thought we would make it easier for you by having a Spanish tapas night. Tapas are a traditional Spanish bar food made for sharing. We have collected ten delicious tapas we think you will love! For a minimum charge of $16 you get to choose four serves of any of the dishes from our list below. Then it's just $4 for every extra serve. Simple! Our list; Tortilla Espanola. No tapas meal is c...omplete without this eggy potato and onion dish. (GF) Patatas Bravas. Fried potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce. Another classic.(VG) (GF) Vegetable paella. What defines Spanish food more than paella? (VG) (GF) Andalusian chickpeas and Spinach. A peasant dish that reflects the Arab influence in Spanish cuisine, but a very popular tapas. (VG) A selection of roasted fennel and orange olives, grilled Red capsicum and fried green chilies. A great accompaniment to the other dishes. (VG) (GF) Russian potato salad. Yes, Russian! A left over from one of the countless European wars that is still very popular in Spain. (GF) Cheese Empanadas. Very popular in South America, and just as popular in the country they came from! Broccoli and Romesco sauce. Fresh broccoli served with a classic tapas tomato sauce. (VG) Garlic mushrooms. Simple but delicious. (VG) (GF) Albondigas de lentejas. Lentil balls in a tomato sauce. A classic tapas, given a veg twist. This week's cakes include Mexican chocolate, lemon polenta (GF) and nutmeg spice cake. Also vegan fruit and nut slice. 16.01.2022 "I've always believed that there is no better way to banish differences and bring people together than through sharing food. And soup, perhaps is the ultimate shared dish" @gregmaloufchef. With this inspiration, this Friday we are offering two dishes inspired by the Muslim world. Iranian New Year's bean and noodle soup, ash reshteh, and Malaysian/Indonesian nasi lemak. Ash reshteh is served with a fresh baked egg and feta pide. Nasi lemak is centred around a fragrant coconut... rice served with a selection of sides including sweet and spicy tempeh, boiled egg, peanuts, cucumber and a vegetable pickle, each contrasting and balancing each other, to create a delicious whole. Cakes on offer this week are: Indonesian Nutmeg cake, Baked cheesecake, choc date almond torte (GF) and Kat's fruit and nut slice (vegan). Please order by Wednesday. 01.01.2022 We at @smallplanetcafe try and do our best to reduce our waste and recycle as much as we can. This can create a bit more work at times, having a bin for regular recycling, soft plastics, regular compost, worm food and our latest bin for Laurie and Liz's ducks. So it was really appreciated when Liz gave me one of Laurie's home brew rye beers when dropping off a tub of food scraps for the ducks this evening. Now that's recycling!
