24.01.2022 Wesley Vale, Drilling some really nice ground.

22.01.2022 70% Equine renovator perennial grass seed 30% Tama annual rye grass 150kgs of DAP fertiliser drilled by our machine in March. We will top dress in late September with 150kgs urea ready to cut for hay. Rough cost for about 1 hectare to be seeded Flat weed / Cape weed spray $40 chemical and $70 labour, excluding travel.... PH was 6.0 so we did not need any extra Calciprill or lime but in the last few years a lot has gone down so luckily we didn’t need that extra expense for this paddock. The Tamar Valley is genuinely very acidic. 25 kg bag of Equine renovator perennial grass seed costs around $280 - 320 25 kg bag of Tama annual rye grass is around $70 we used about 10kgs. 150kgs of DAP fertiliser or 6 x 25 kgs bags Costs around $33 - $40 a bag Drilling seed and DAP $70 an hour plus travel. We can average one hectare in 2 to 2.5 hours depending on shape of the paddock, flatness travel time to fill up with seed and fertiliser all these factors come into effect. Top dress with Urea 150kgs 6x 25 kgs bags costing upwards of $27 each Spreading urea $70 plus travel this is done months after seeding We recommend getting a soil test from an agronomist for the best outcomes for your property needs. Also we have left this paddock it has not been touched since and hardly looked at. This is just a rough guide for the price of seeding one hectare at these rates and this is our own place. All properties circumstances are different. we do not supply seed or fertilisers.

21.01.2022 Feeding out no matter the weather. Ok for the two in the tractor

21.01.2022 Our spring season has well and truely started. We have been busy spraying cape weed out of hay paddocks, spring seeding grasses and about to start spreading fertiliser for the up and coming hay season so if you are interested in some pasture improvements please get in contact with us.

19.01.2022 A little bit of steep ground today. Fertiliser front weights needed. Good old DAP

19.01.2022 Our first time ever cutting silage. We had to make the decision as our grass started to fall over and would possibly rot if we left it till hay cutting time.

15.01.2022 Massive day spraying, felt like broad acre contracting today, when realistically it was only 12 hectares still six hours worth of work. When it’s to wet for the big stuff call in a quad.

14.01.2022 This property did not have a blade of grass but instead a thick layer of nothing but Cape weed. We sprayed the property out for cape weed and it turned into a mud as expected as there was nothing left. Then in August oversowed with a equine renovator and Tama today we top dressed with a little fertiliser. Hopefully we have out competed the dreaded weed with these new pastures.

13.01.2022 Winter is setting in and making it a bit chilly for seeding but it’s a great time to think about what else we can do to help improve your property. We can help you out with selectively spraying weeds and spreading granulated fertilisers and Calciprill lime. Get in touch today to discuss what we can do for you.

09.01.2022 First two pics. Our first seeding job at home with our little machine the paddock has come up better than we or anyone who has seen it could imagine but it was not that way to start with we were not happy with it at all but luckily time has prevailed. Other pics are of a paddock our good friend Andrew Brunacci did three years ago this was the first paddock to have anything done with it in about 20 years at this property. As you can see it is still belting along all the perennial seeds are really maturing and giving us pasture longevity. We got 12 5x4 rounds the first year 10 last year and at the rate it’s going I’m guessing 10-12 this year the paddock is .80 of a hectare.

09.01.2022 Seeding the Tamar Valley

07.01.2022 Equine Renovator and Tama grass mix is coming up brilliantly considering to start with it was terrible and I was asked why I’d played naughts and crosses in the paddock it was so patchy but look what time does if you leave it alone.

07.01.2022 Wow this has come up well sown down in late January no Irragation just what the weather gods have given us. 150kgs of dap to the hectare. In the Tamar valley

05.01.2022 Doing the ever important stump and rock marking for the hay contractors, nothing worse for them than damaging their gear on a hidden rock or stump and they probably won’t be back again if they do.

02.01.2022 Our lovely silage is up for sale give Andrew a buzz if you want any

02.01.2022 Are your paddocks too wet to get a Spreader Truck or Tractor on? Still wanting to boost your hay cut or improve your pH? Give us a call, we use an ATV with tow behind spreader which, being lightweight, can handle most wet, boggy paddocks for both small and large areas.

01.01.2022 Drilling seed in Wesley Vale today. Best soil this drill has touched so far.
