18.01.2022 MEET TOKOLOSHE Tokoloshe presented to our Emergency Team over the weekend as he had eaten a tampon whilst adventuring at the park and yes.. you did read that correctly he definitely ate a tampon... Dr Amit proceeded to induce vomiting in the hopes he would be able to bring it back up, if Tokoloshe was unable to vomit the tampon back up he would then require an anaesthetic for an endoscope to be passed down the oesophagus and into the stomach to retrieve the item. ... Thankfully Tokoloshe managed to vomit up the tampon and was sent home shortly after. We have posted this story as a reminder to all pet owners to stay vigilant to the best of your abilities when our furry friends are off the lead. The dangers of items left on the ground can be extensive as they do have the potential to cause blockages in the gastrointestinal system. *If your pet ever ingests a foreign body or has any other encounters requiring a vet assessment whilst at the park or on an adventure dont forget we are open 24/7, walk ins are welcome*

10.01.2022 HAPPY HALLOWEEN In light of Halloween the team at SAI Vet would like to pass on some pet safety tips for your fur and feathered babies - NO sweets for your sweeties (they contain harmful chemicals and cause a toxicity side effect when ingested) ... - Keep your Jack-O-Lanterns away from your fur babies as they pose a fire hazard if knocked over - Costumes are optional! Please do not force your babies to wear costumes as it can cause unnecessary stress and anxiety - No trick or treater greeters; the front door is a high traffic area and can cause upset to even the friendliest pets - Don’t forget your ID; just incase your pet is spooked and manages to escape please ensure they’re microchipped and have a collar with an ID tag - Party Poopers are OK! Some pets enjoy peace and quiet rather than the big party setting up an area quiet and isolated from the crowd is always a good idea! Have a safe and spooky day/night everyone!! *we are open 24/7 for all your pets needs*
