24.01.2022 Last week @AnneNalder presented at the recent Qld Teachers virtual conference organised by TAFE Queensland Anne was asked to talk about how could schools prepare students for the workforce. Annes presentation was well received resulting in Anne being invited to speak to small business owners and TAFE teachers in Brisbane in November. Anne suggested that we need a big, bold vision post coronavirus that includes teaching students in how to start and run a small business commencing Year 1 in primary school through to Year 12. The courses need to be designed so they are interesting and relevant to the students ages. Students will be well prepared for when they leave school and whichever pathway they choose post graduation.

Whilst Anne believes that workers need good pay and conditions, she asks the question as to how much more can a small business owner endure. They put their own money into their business, they risk their homes and relationships, suffered the prolonged drought, bushfires, flo...ods and now the severe impact of #covid19, and yet with todays compliance requirements the small business has virtually no say. The Federal Courts decision is another nail in the small business coffin. What the unions and everyone else need to understand is that unless small business is given a break, there will be no recovery. History shows that recovery is led by small business. Whilst big projects are welcome that will not solve the problem of unemployment. There are people in this country who have never run a small business, never risked their money yet they have a lot to say, demand and dictate as to how to run a small business.
