22.01.2022 To all our loyal patrons, we have had to make the decision to temporarily close our restaurant. We are unable to find staff due to the current corona virus pandemic and this has caused us to restructure the way things work at Smallwater Estate. If you have bookings with the restaurant over the next few months, we will be in contact with you shortly. We hope that in the near future our restaurant will reopen and we can continue cooking delicious food for you all, depending on our success in finding employees. Allanah and John will still be running our cellar door on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 4pm. So stay tuned for updates on what they may be doing! 14.01.2022 We could not run the annual show without Gj Freight Donnybrook! They receive many of the wine entries, then deliver them safely to our venue for judging, so we'...re very glad to have them back on board. Flash back to the judging team and stewards of 2019, who tasted over 200 wines, all safely delivered by GJ Freight!

Cassoulet: slow roast lamb shoulder, confit duck and pork belly, sausage, cannellini beans, rich tomato sauce, crusty bread, topped with duck fat breadcrumbs. Potato and confit garlic soup, Ferguson Valley Truffels, chives ... Remember the menu changes weekly and please let us know of any special dietary requirements.

11.01.2022 Took a drive through the blooming south west countryside enjoying the greens and fresh colours of almost spring. We were on a quest to collect our Smallwater Wi...ne Club order. We love the drive from Bunbury to Kirup and it was a nice excuse to get out in the sunshine. "Been such a mild winter I'm pruning the chardonnay already," John Small, owner of the very lovely Smallwater Estate near Donnybrook told us. We had a chat and a laugh or too overlooking the marron dams and the sweeping scenery. "Would you like to try the fresh off the press 2020 unwooded Chardonnay," he asked. You betcha! I love the Smallwater Chardy... while Dave is more of a Zinfandel man. Can attest that it's truly up to standard (and beyond) .. I found it crisp, fresh, full of citrus flavour and oh so quaffable! And oh what some plans are afoot at Smallwater! ...The restaurant is re-opening at weekends and John has a list of new endeavours.
