13.01.2022 To all my friends and family, You may have heard the news this week, reguarding the Remuneration Structure for people like myself in the Mortgage Broking Industry. The Royal Commission into Banks has recommended moving Mortgage Broker Remuneration, from a Bank Pays System, to a Customer Pays Set-up. It's fair to say that if these changes were to go ahead, myself and 17,000 other Mortgage Brokers around the country, would be left vunerable to failure and many (if not most) w...ould have to leave the industry. This would see the power returned to the Banks with extensive Branch Networks and mean that smaller lenders would no longer be accessable to many lenders. No longer having an even playing field for all lenders, through having the ability to complete using Brokers as Shop Fronts, would see a decrease to Competition, an increase to Lending Costs and decrease to Available Funding.
