Make sure when you set up the backups that they are scheduled (daily or weekly depending on how much your site is updated/e-commerce)... We can also take backups for you. 15.01.2022 WordPress Security Every website should have a security plugin. Did you know 87% of websites have high or medium cyber security risks?... One way to protect your website is to install a security plugin. One of the best free plugins is called WordFence. Task: Login to your website and check you have a security plugin installed. If not install one today. Go to Add New Plugin and search for WordFence. Wordfenceis a WordPress security plugin that helps you protect your website against security threats like hacking, malware, DDOS and brute force attacks. It comes with a website application firewall, which filters all traffic to your website and blocks suspicious requests. It has a malware scanner that scans all your WordPress core files, themes, plugins, and upload folders for changes and suspicious code. But just installing Wordfence is not enough. You should configure the WordFence settings to protect your site. Bonus: We have put together a 21min training video on how to configure your WordFence settings for only $4.97 - available on our website [link in bio]: https://smartrobbie.com.au//wordfence-basic-set-up-how-to/

03.01.2022 The benefits of website maintenance I just wanted to share a little story today about the benefits of website backups. Today a business website went down because their hosting provider shut down their account. This left their website not operating and people were not able to contact them. As the hosting was cancelled they also lost their whole site! Meaning they would have to build the site again if they didn’t have a backup kept elsewhere. ... Because they are on one of our maintenance plans, i was able to set up a new hosting account and load one of our backups, all within 30min. Lessons that can be learned from this example: 1. Make sure your website is backed up and those backups are kept else where Eg the cloud, Dropbox etc 2. Always check your hosting and domain invoices are paid on time or early. 3. Have an up time monitor on your site so you get notifications if your site goes down. 4. Get someone to look after this for you if you prefer not to worry about it Without having a back of your site you risk loosing your site, leaving you to rebuild your site from scratch costing you $$$$. It’s just like insurance, it’s there Incase you need it.
