25.01.2022 Hi Guys, 1 on 1 Coaching can now go ahead at the Kwinana Tennis Club. Member Practice sessions with the 2 player per court rule is also ok if monitored by the Coach or a Committee Member. 22.01.2022 On a positive note, our Boys 12/u Div 3 team have won the 2019-20 Tennis West Summer Competition. They finished top of the ladder and as such were awarded champions for this season. They will get another shield for our club room and a TW medal each. Congratulations to Joey, Broc, Samrad, Captain Adam and Yajat on a great season. Unfortunately we had 4 other teams who made the finals but as the season was cut a bit short they didnt get to play. Also we had a Mens and Ladies t...eam this season. The Mens Team were second on the ladder so just missed out on becoming champions and the ladies team had a great run of wins towards to end of the season and were unlucky to just miss out on the final 4 spot. Well done to all of the Kwinana teams who had a lot of fun. On a personal note, a huge congratulations to Lorinda Carmen from our ladies team for winning the MVP for Div 3 and "Aadi" Aaditya Arora in his first season of comp playing in 9-12 Green Ball Competiton. They will be awarded a special MVP Trophy from Tennis West in the near future. Hopefully we can get back on the court soon

19.01.2022 Kwinana Tennis Club has joined the country-wide Open Court Sessions initiative - you may have seen it advertised on television during the Australian Open. It is... really good fun, and in a format that makes it easy for anyone to have a go. We play on smaller courts with slow-bouncing tennis balls (pickle ball), and rotate through a few different activities to the sound of music. If you havent been for a hit in a while (or ever), and youre keen to get out of the house and exercise/socialise/have fun for an hour and half, please come join us on a Wednesday night at 6:30pm. We are running it for 8 weeks from 29 January. Besides the on-court entertainment, food and soft drinks are also included in the $15 registration. Please register online at https://play.tennis.com.au/court-hire/KwinanaTennisClub to book a spot, and so that we can ensure that we cater for the right amount of people. 19.01.2022 Smash tennis academy at the Kwinana tennis club is offering a free 4 week tennis term to 12 new kids (who have not played tennis before), aged 6-15 years whos families have been affected by covid 19. We only have limited spots unfortunately so first in will get the free 4 week term. There may be a second 4 week term after the first wave if you miss out so keep an eye out in a months time. Hopefully it helps some families who cant afford to get the kids back into a sport a...t the moment where there is no contact and social distancing. They will be small groups due to covid 19 (as per strict govt guidelines), and we will give you further information when booking in. 11.01.2022 Covid-19 update and Smash Tennis Academy Other than pennants, at this stage the rest of STA operations are continuing as usual. We have been, and continue to follow the WA Department of Health when it comes to decisions surrounding our operations. For most part tennis is played with relatively large distances between players with no requirement for much physical contact. Personal hygiene of participants and staff- ... Our staff have been advised to try to limit physical contact with players, which typically occurs when helping players with grip changes and to refrain from high-fives etc. It is also important that everyone (staff and players) pay more attention to their own personal hygiene - washing hands more frequently/or using hand sanitiser. We would also prefer that if you/your child is sick that you consider staying home and not attending your lesson in order to protect the health of everyone. As I said we are watching daily the WA Department of Health website and future decisions will be based on their advice and if anything changes this will be communicated to you as soon as possible.
