Successful applicant/applicants will be responsible for providing a high level of care and service to customers. They will be required to be able to work on their own and in a team environment.... Applicant must be willing to learn, they must be highly motivated and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. They must be willing to help with passenger, 4x4 and light commercial tyres. Applicant must hold current driver’s licence. Experience is essential. Fitting, balancing and minor repairs of truck, agricultural & industrial fitting and minor repairs. 08.01.2022 Today the Team here at Smedley Tyre Service are celebrating 25 years of business! Darren and Tania opened the Business here in Tailem Bend in 1995 from the back of a 720 Nissan tray top ute & an 8x5 cage trailer, where Darren could fit all of his equipment and stock. Today we stock over 500 tyres and have multiple service vehicles with 6 full time employees, with their eldest son Brad managing the store. Darren and Tania opened their first Tyre Shop in a shed on their pr...operty on the out skirts of Tailem Bend where they were only allowed to operate 1 full day & 2 half days a week. In 1996 Darren and Tania bought the old River Bend Motors Building at the address of where we still are today, 51 Princes Hwy Tailem Bend. Darren and Tania started the business as an independent tyre store soon to become a Bridgestone/Firestone Store. In 1999 Darren and Tania had their first business achievement where they won a trip to Japan, they came 3rd in the nation for their category. In 2003 Smedley Tyre Service parted ways with Bridgestone and became a Dunlop Super Dealer. 2004/2005 Smedley Tyre Service won Dunlop Super Dealer of the year. 2015/2016 Smedley Tyre Service won Dunlop Super Dealer of the year. 2017/2018 Smedley Tyres Service Runner up Dunlop Super Dealer of the year. In 2019 Darren and Tania employed a full-time mechanic and their youngest son Jack became an apprentice mechanic, December of 2019 Darren and Tania built a new workshop Solely for the mechanical side of the busines. 06.01.2022 Hi Guys, Another update Regarding whether automotive servicing can continue under the 6 day 'Stay at Home' Directions.... We have sought clarification from the Premier's office who have confirmed that general servicing should not proceed. The Premier's office have advised that vehicle repair and mechanical services may operate but only to the extent necessary to facilitate other essential work or activities. For example, if a freight truck breaks down it can be serviced, but discretionary servicing such which is not necessary for critical vehicle safety should wait 6 days.
