22.01.2022 COSMETIC MAKEOVER- MOLARS with OVC( One Visit Crowns) This Patient of ours has a amalgam restorations and over time had developed cracks on tooth causing sensitivity and pain on biting. Given COVID-19 situation she did not want to invest more than needed to restore the tooth. After initial consultation and impressions of her existing teeth( no drill or temporary crown)....... we sent off the impressions to our Dental lab(@rhondium ). The Custom crown was then inserted 2 weeks later after prepping the tooth....All in one appointment! Made of 73% Zirconia filled hybrid ceramic... they have very good wear resistance and needs less teeth preparation than conventional crowns. Being more cost effective than conventional crowns.... was just icing on the cake.... 20.01.2022 Mastered ...The’ Rubberdam! Under Level-3 dental restrictions, we can strictly only use Aerosol for emergency dental....under Rubberdam (to reduce air borne spread of virus). They say necessity is Mother of all inventions’....or Changing’ old ways! Have to admit as much as ... Rubber Dams( raincoat wrapped around tooth with a clamp) were fiddly when I started using them in April, when restrictions started( more than just during root canal)....it gets easier to apply with some trial and error and practice! But so much more efficient for isolation and moisture control for General dental procedures like composite fillings. Will definitely continue using rubber dam more often, even when restrictions are lifted..... This has been an unprecedented and uncontrollable circumstance.... wherein we have had to delay and postpone our usual general, cosmetic and orthodontic procedures and significantly reduce our hours of work.... like most Small businesses during this lock down. It has been hard for all of us.... but focusing on little wins’ and positives. Learning to balance work and family and relearning and mastering old skills.
