13.01.2022 If you have noticed flattened and worn tooth surfaces, or if you are experiencing tension-related headaches, stiffness and pain in the jaw joint muscles, or even difficulty in chewing with limited opening of the jaws then you may be suffering from bruxism which is excessive clenching and grinding. Clenching and grinding may occur during the day but more often at night where there is no conscious control over this undesirable habit that can wear away and weaken your teeth. An occlusal splint is a moulded, custom made hard plastic oral appliance which is worn at night to prevent further wear of the tooth surfaces.
