25.01.2022 It’s our first birthday today, hooray! The time has just flown by, it’s hard to believe that today, a year ago we opened our doors! We’re proud to be a small business in the beautiful community of Diamond Creek. ... 25.01.2022 Here are 5 of our fave tips to sparkle up your smile! 1. DRINK THROUGH A STRAW ... Drinking liquids through a straw will reduce direct contact of liquids onto your teeth which could cause staining. If we take Tea/coffee as an example, it contains a compound called tannin which can produce stains on your teeth and stick to plaque causing a lasting discolouration. By simply drinking through a straw, you can reduce this from happening. Don’t worry, you will still be able to enjoy your favourite drink, whilst keeping your smile brighter for longer. It will feel a bit funny at first, but you will soon get quite used with it. Give it a try with your next coffee! 2. GET A DENTAL CLEAN Often times discoloured teeth occur from tartar and stains sitting on teeth. When you get a dental cleans, these stains and tartar can be removed safely to maintain your pearly whites We recommend a professional dental clean at least every 6 months 3. USE A SOFT BRUSH: Using a hard brush with force can wear away your enamel, revealing the second layer of your tooth which looks yellow. Use an ultra-soft brush and use round circles when brushing 4. SWISH WITH SOME H2O After consuming pigmented foods or spices, be sure to rinse your mouth out with water so the colourations don’t stick to your plaque and then turn into stubborn stains which can be hard to remove. 5. MAINTAIN GOOD ORAL HYGIENE A simple but an important tip is to brush your teeth twice a day and floss at least once a night. This will help prevent build-up and remove stains on a daily basis.
