10.01.2022 This little boy is Asher and he comes to Smiley faces family day care...I have asked Asher's parents could they share a bit about Cystic Fibrosis...Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects mainly the lungs and pancreas. It causes a thick sticky mucous in the body which is a breeding ground for germs and bacteria and the body doesnt digest food, vitamins or nutrients correctly. Unfortunately, what the normal person sees as a common cold - a person with CF could pote...ntially end up hospitalised with permanent lung damage. Because the body doesnt function correctly, a person with Cystic Fibrosis also struggles to put on weight and eats a very different diet to what the general population eats. As you can imagine, cold and flu season can be very scary - not only for Asher but also the people that care about him. Germs can potentially be life threatening. See more
