Welcome "Harmony Space" So................................ what is a Harmony Space? A Harmony Space exists to celebrate communication & bring people from all cultures together. Words of welcome and greetings from local & foreign languages are inlaid into the pavement to reinforce the connection between the Whisper Seats.... As you enter the unique space, you will notice large native trees either side framing the entry whilst the Whisper Seats remain the focal point. Open edges to the lawns surrounding the space provide informal access & views to the greenspace. Parabolic microphones (Whisper Seats) depend on a parabolic dish to reflect sound coming from a specific direction into the microphone placed at the focus. A person sitting or standing at the focus of one seat can hear another person speaking in a whisper at the focus of the other, despite the wide separation between them. They are extremely sensitive to sounds coming from a specific direction.
