25.01.2022 Some much needed preventative maintenance just before Christmas on this spray line for a customer, removed this gearbox shaft to replace worn bearings, replace couplings and elements as the whole drive shaft had a heap of movement, made one new keyway on site, new bearings in, realigned the whole rack inside, got it all running again then some fault finding on a height problem should be a much smoother operation now ready for next year when they all come back to work. #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #MORETHANJUSTELECTRICAL

22.01.2022 Another recent job, removed a whole bunch of old fluro lights in this area in a factory which where hanging lower on chains, half of the old fluros where either dull or not working, we made the decision so remove the fluros and fit LED hi-bay lights which i was able to mount alot higher, overall they have alot better lighting now and fewer lights needed overall which works out to lower power consumption also. #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #LIGHTING #LED

21.01.2022 This was a bit of an involved job to repair, the main plate holding the complete set of rollers on this rebar straightening machine had snapped a bolt and dropped the whole frame out of alignment, entire plate needed to be rotated to access bolts to remove covers, then lift and realigned the mounts to have the large snapped bolt removed, fix alignment and fit new bolts. Repairs to the cutter guide and fit a new cutter, reassemble everything and get the machine back up and running the same day #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #MECHANICAL #MUCHMORETHANJUSTELECTRICAL #NOJOBTOOBIGORSMALL

21.01.2022 One job out of my usual greasy and dirty work environment mounted a TV, mount camera system, run network and HDMI points neatly behind the TV then up under the floor below the desk in the middle of the room to run this touch screen unit for conference calling and provisions to connect internet and laptop to TV without cable running across the room, also some new led panel lights in the board room at the same time #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #WEDOITALL

20.01.2022 Supply and installed a new display screen and air pressure switch on this edgebander for a new customer fixed a few other little issues and showed the operator a few things about the machine while I was there #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #EDGEBANDER #MACHINERY

17.01.2022 A job from last week, I had a scissor lift on site to relocate some cable tray for some racking to go up in this factory #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL

15.01.2022 Today I had a breakdown which half of the rollers on a conveyor system were not working, after a bit of investigation and pulling things apart, I found a badly worn sprocket on one roller, removed and replaced with a complete spare unit. Always good to mix up such a wide range of work and always working on something different #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #SPROCKETS #PNEUMATICS #MECHANICAL #ELECTRICAL #HYDRAULICS #MAINTENANCE #BREAKDOWNS #REPAIRS #REBAR

13.01.2022 Sorry for the lack of posts lately as I've been super busy, here's a recent job I've done which turned out to be a faulty motor & gearbox on a tool changer for this CNC. All up and running again with a happy customer. #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL

08.01.2022 A bit of ongoing work for a new customer, a general tidy up of the electrical throughout the new factory, remove things that where not required, installed some new cabling, power, lighting etc. Amazing how much difference its making with a general tidy up, machines have started going in now also. #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL

06.01.2022 Brought in an extra set of hands to carry on with this job while I attended to an urgent machine breakdown for another customer, then returned and knocked out this dust extractor pretty quickly together, inverter driven motor, auto air pulse for the filters, remote start in classroom, unit linked in with emergency stops throughout classrooms, auto start for the air compressor. #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #TEAMSMITH #FATHERSONTEAM #MACHINERY #DUSTEXTRACTION #AUTOMATION #CONTROL

04.01.2022 Something different from the usual electrical posts, one of the things I get up to in my spare time, I've been helping a mate out recently doing an engine swap and a bit of work on his speedway sidecar in my workshop, last night we went out for the first practice on the new setup should look good after some more tweaking and the wrap is done. #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #SILVYRACING #SPEEDWAY #SIDECARS

02.01.2022 Busy weekend getting some repairs done on this machine for a customer, rollers were badly worn, ordered in some replacements from Italy, the orange ones we replaced complete rollers and sleeves, black ones we replaced just the sleeves where the rollers were reusable. An extra set of hands certainly made this job alot easier and saved alot of time. No job too big or too small. #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #MACHINERY #SHEAR #ROLLERS #DOITALL

01.01.2022 It was nice to get this job finished off today as I had been waiting on a replacement part from Italy and due to corona virus, deliveries have slowed down alot especially parts coming from overseas, being a lifting device I did not want to take the risk on having repairs done locally for safety reasons, therefore ordered parts from the original manufacturer. Now it just needs to be tested and certified for use and it will be back in operation for lifting/ loading bundles of steel mesh. #SMITHINDUSTRIALELECTRICAL #STEELREINFORCING #REPAIRS #MAINTENANCE
