25.01.2022 Day 2 Hop to Hobart and the Scenic South. After a buffet cooked breakfast we headed to Margate to Inverawe Native Gardens, Tasmanias largest landscapes native garden. We saw many birds, wallabies and lovely Tasmanian and Australian native trees and plants with a spectacular view of the Derwent River and North Bruny Island while having a nice cuppa. Next we checked out the old Margate Train showcasing specialty shops in the carriages. After an exciting visit to the Channel Mu...seum where memories were brought back and some found some family members displayed we enjoyed a light lunch at the cafe. A drive through Snug, along to coast to Birches Bay where we visited Art in the Paddock and then Grandvewe Sheep Cheesery tasting the local produce, cheese, milk and spirits. To end our night we had some free time along the Warf got free time for dinner while others had a relaxing night in. See more

23.01.2022 What a fantastic adventure we had at the West Coast on Saturday. We started with a beautiful drive through Hellyer Gorge to Waratah where we had a Mandys morning tea. Then off to Tullah we went! We all enjoyed a ride on the 1924 locomotive Wee Georgie Steam Wood Train through town and along side Lake Rosebery. (some of us even got to blow the whistle). We then enjoyed a generous lunch at the Tullah Tavern before met local alpaca Cleveland (who was very excited and showed his appreciation by spitting on some of us!) finishing our day with a drive along Lake Rosebery before heading back to the North West Coast.

18.01.2022 Wow! Havent things changed in such a short time span. Everyone is facing different challenges as the world is being turned upside down. We all need to work together in these trying times and we need to ensure we are all staying safe. As far as Smiths Travel Club is concerned, we have had to suspended all travel at this time including day trips and extended tours for the foreseeable future. I understand it is frustrating not knowing answers or when tours will be postponed to.... Please rest assured that I am doing everything I possibly can to ensure all of our members are being looked after in each individual situation and understand this may take some time as these are uncharted waters for all concerned. I Thank you for your patience and continued support throughout these unprecedented times and I can not wait until things get back to normal so we can continue enjoying our adventures together. 18.01.2022 Summer Breeze Mystery was a blast! Although the weather wasnt very summer like we were grateful that we were getting much needed rain and the the rain stopped just for us every time we had to go outside. Our first stop was at Cuppa, Cake and Collectables at Sisters Creek for a delicious morning tea, then onto Highfield Historic Homestead rich with history and amazing views of the Stanley Nut and coast line. After a bit of free time in Stanley exploring the novelty shops before lunch at the Chocolate Gallery Cafe. We finished our day off at Blue Hills Honey Farm where some of us experienced virtual reality for the first time and of course stocked up our honey supply. Looking forward to our next trip tomorrow for our Wine and Dine Tour.

17.01.2022 What a fantastic day out on Lavender is the New Flavour day trip yesterday! Our day started at the Lavender Perfumery in Rowella enjoyed some skin care products and learnt about making the perfume Followed by Mandys Morning Tea. Then we travelled through the Tamar Valley arriving at Bridestowe Lavender Estate the largest commercial lavender farm in the world. Here we enjoyed a tour around the farm learning about the growing and harvesting of the lavender, followed up by lunch and of course a lavender ice cream. After purchasing our lavender products we headed home having fun playing games on the bus!

17.01.2022 Another great day out today. Starting our day at the Blue Berry Barn Cafe for a delicious morning tea then we visited Seahorse World and the Platypus House. We got to get up close and personal to Seahorses, Hermit Crabs, Echidnas and Platypi!! We enjoyed a big feed at Beauty Point Waterfront Hotel before a scenic drive home.

10.01.2022 Christmas In the Bush Mystery it was!! We picked up our passengers along the northwest coast and started our day off in the bush at Hellyer George Reserve for a Mandys Morning Tea. We continued around the windy road with Scotty confusing us and playing games guessing where we were heading next for lunch. We arrived at the MRA Shed on the hill at Heybridge for a Christmas buffet lunch. Full of Christmas cheer and spirit we had a visit from Santa who gave out some goodies. We finished our day with some Christmas drinks and games at Guide Falls Reserve. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the team at Smiths Travel we look forward to seeing you all in the new year!

09.01.2022 Day 1 Hop to Hobart and the Scenic South. We picked up along the North West Coast on our way to Hobart, stopping at Campbell Town for lunch and of course a drive up Mount Wellington before checking into our accommodation at Wrest Point. To end our day we had a big buffet dinner at the Casino and for dessert a very impressive chocolate fondue fountain.

08.01.2022 Meander Through the Maze 18/11/20 What a stunning day it was today to be out and about exploring our wonderful state. First stop, cuppa and cake at the Muse Cafe in Shearwater, we challenged ourselves in the Westbury Maze, a delicious home cooked lunch offering soup, sandwiches and slices, a visit to the John Temple photo gallery and finishing our day off at the Tasmanian Copper and Metal Art Gallery. A day full of laughter, adventure and a spot of shopping

07.01.2022 Well we Wine and Dine! Started our day off at Blue Barn Cafe in Frankford for a generous home made morning tea and then we visited Tamar Valley Hazel Nut Farm. Next Lentara Olive Grove. Of course we learnt about the plantation of these farms and the process of harvest and making them into local produce and products that we see on our shelves. We stops for an absolutely beautiful lunch at the Elmsie Tasmania over looking the Tamar River and surrounding vineyards. Before heading home we had 8 wine tastings at Veloc Wines. A great day had by all!

05.01.2022 Magnificent Mystery day trip on Saturday. Visited Trevallyn Dam for a morning tea picnic, chair lift ride at the Gorge and of course a walk around the beautiful gardens with the local wallabies and peacocks. Lunch at the Riverside Hotel and our final stop at the Tamar Island Wetlands Centre.

05.01.2022 Our National Trust Adventures last week. -Homemade morning tea picnic at Longford -Brickendon Farm and Gardens -Blenheim Hotel for lunch -Clarendon House and gardens

05.01.2022 Day 3 Hop to Hobart and the Scenic South. After a big brekkie we headed on down to the Huon Valley stopping at the Wooden Boat Centre in Franklin. We then continued our way to the lovely little town of Geeveston, exploring the novelty shops, home made goods and of course the wood turning demonstration. We all experienced an enjoyable lunch at places of our choosing in the town before continuing our way down south to Hastings Caves and the Thermal Hot Springs. The cave tour wa...s very interesting and so stunning and those that were brave enough to go for a dip in the 28 degrees natural hot springs really enjoyed it. It was time to head back to our accommodation at Wrest Point Casino for our buffet dinner with a lovely view of the harbour. A few of us ventured out on to the Battery Point Ghost Tour after dinner. Not only was it a fantastic scenic walk around the area with a wealth of knowledge shared of the history of Battery Point from the guide some but of us even experienced a presence of a ghost/spirit/afterlife. What a fantastic day! See more
