22.01.2022 As part of our annual community outreach program our first recipient of 2020 photocopier give away is Parklands Albury Wodonga. Parklands where recommended a by Wommera Aboriginal Corporation and were offered this opportunity in recognition of our community based social inclusion and environmental programs, which support community members from diverse backgrounds to connect with others, get out into nature, get involved in improving local landscapes and connect with country. ... Anne & Ant are very excited about their new copier, after not being able to replacing their old one when it died last year, it has been a struggle to get the job done. Parklands worked with the aboriginal community to establish the Burraja cultural center on Gateway Island back in 2002, and have since supported numerous local projects providing opportunities for sharing culture such as the crafting of two traditional canoes in the Murray River parkland's. They also support cultural economic inclusion activities such as hosting traditional weaving classes and cultural walks led by Aboriginal people. Parklands not only maintain the community parks, they also supervise the volunteer program for the Bhutanese community garden which incorporates plots for the many other multicultural groups in our region. For more information on the great work Parklands do visit their facebook page or www.parklands-alburywodonga.org.au We are so pleased to be able to help you & thank you for all you do for our community.

17.01.2022 Yesterday our MD Glenn attended a fundraiser, that our client KBC Plumbing held to raise funds for local charity AW Cancer trust. This is Ben, he is an apprentice with Kade and he was diagnosed March this year, causing KBC to pull together and do what they can to support this amazing local charity. Yesterday saw them shave and colour their heads and auction of some wonderful prizes.... Their target was $15,000 with $18,000 achieved and still counting they have been blown away by the local support. We are so proud of what you have achieved Kade, Laura & Team! Well done! Wishing you a speedy recovery Ben
17.01.2022 As a business and team that is doing their best to stay operational through this time of uncertainty, we thought it appropriate to share a positive message borrowed from another source. Victoria's Secret declared bankrupt. Zara closed 1,200 stores. Chanel, Hermes and Rolex have stopped production. Nike is getting ready for stage two of layoffs. AirBnb founder says that due to the pandemic, 12 years of effort were destroyed in 6 weeks. Starbucks announced the permanent closure... of 400 stores. And the list continues... Five months since the pandemic started and it has created huge debts, many of our friends and family are out of work and unemployed with tens of thousands of businesses now out of service. If the company you work for continues, no pay reduction or layoffs then treat it well and have respect for what the owner(s) must be going through to keep it going. 2020 is about survival, leave the daily complaints/moans and anything else minor behind, be thankful and show respect for what you have. Work hard and show your boss/owner/company the appreciation they need and deserve. *copied from elsewhere let’s spread it. Lauren Scifleet

11.01.2022 As part of our annual community outreach program our second recipient of 2020 photocopier give away is Carevan Albury. Carevan was recommended as a recipient by Youth Emergency Services (YES) Unlimited, as they work very closely in our community, Carevan providing up to 20 meals a week to YES unlimited program members as well as working hand in hand with referral services. John, Leanne & Tracey of Carevan are extremely excited to receive their photocopier and the help it wil...l provide their admin services. Carevan’s Vision is to encourage us and them to become we! And they know its Easier to care than to turn away. Carevan offer 4 main services to our community: Food Service- providing meal services to homeless and disadvantaged individuals over a variety of ages, this sit down service allows for a much needed community support and interaction, referrals are often provided as the volunteers get to know the recipients, this service recently changed to take away style meals and between April-June they have donated 2,400 meals to those in need. Kids Cooking & Caring- Students from local schools donate their time in class to cook meals for the Carevan recipients, they also enjoy the community outreach program at the end of the year where they join the recipients for a meal. 02.01.2022 As part of our annual community outreach program our third recipient of 2020 photocopier give away is Tots2Teens Albury Wodonga. Tots2Teens offer services in Albury Wodonga, Wangaratta and surrounds by providing immediate assistance to children 0-18, which are in out of home care, escaping domestic violence or are homeless. The support often comes in the form of care packages for newborns, baby baths, bassinet/cots, linen, baby wipes, bottles etc. as well as clothing and to...iletries for children of all ages. They recently met their goal of providing brand new items for all of their packs, really helping to give back dignity to those experiencing a tough time. Tots2Teens also provide support for those leaving domestic violence situations, often providing immediate assistance in these instances. They have also provided sensory packs (colouring books, bubbles, stress ball, smelling sticks etc.) to first responder so that when a child is in a crises situation they will have something else to focus on, with statistics showing that, whilst the trauma can’t be undone if we can lessen their exposure or shift their focus from the event, there is a reduction in the long term impact of the event. Tots2Teens was founded by Joanne Knight who has experience in Child Care & Nursing sectors, after working in Child & Adolescent Psychiatric ward Jo discovered just how much care is required in this field and the vital importance of providing a positive outcomes to children in these formative years. Jo’s passion is evident in everything she does, this passion has resulted in some wonderful local partnerships with Athletes foot, Storage King, Aisha flow yoga as well as many other individuals donating their time, money & resources to the cause. This is a local charity that is providing invaluable services to our community, for more information on the great work Tots2Teens do visit Tots2Teens Albury Wodonga or www.tots2teensalburywodonga.com We are so pleased to be able to help you & thank you for all you do for our community. 01.01.2022 Time for some good news stories... As you know here at SOS we love to help our community wherever we can. You may remember from last year we donate a few photocopiers to wonderful local charities every 12 months as a way of supporting those that support us. This year we went to a few key clients that work closely with charities as part of their day to day work, we asked: Who helps you get the job done? ... Who do you know that would greatly benefit from a Photocopier yet cant afford one as every cent goes back into the community? They Answered... We Delivered. Over the coming weeks we will post a photo and Story to give a shout out for the wonderful work these guys do in our community. To all of our local charities we say thank you for all you do for our community we need you now more than ever. Watch this space
