23.01.2022 Claiming a tax deduction for personal super contributions If you wish to claim a tax deduction for personal contributions, you must have: made the personal super contributions to an eligible super fund... given your super fund a valid Notice of intent to claim or vary a deduction for personal super contributions form by the earlier of - the day you lodge your tax return for the year in which you made the contributions - the end of the income year following the one in which you made the contributions received written acknowledgment of the Notice of Intent from the super fund. An annual member statement or payment summary from your employer is not an acknowledgement of the Notice of Intent. Personal super contributions that you claim as a deduction will count towards your concessional contributions cap. If you intend claiming a tax deduction, make sure that your payment is made by 22nd of June to ensure it is received and processed by the fund to be included this financial year.

20.01.2022 We have been advised today that the ATO will now apply automatic lodgement deferrals for Individual and Company 2018-19 income tax returns. You will now have until 5 June 2020 to lodge. There has also been an update on the JobKeeper Payments for Sole Traders. One of the requirements was to have lodged your 2018-19 tax return by the 12th March 2020 that has now been relaxed and if your due date for lodgement is after the 12 March 2020 you will still be able to apply.

Employers must make sure they are withholding the correct amount from salary or wages paid to employees for any pay runs processed in their system from 16 November onwards. 09.01.2022 CASHFLOW BOOST PAYMENTS The first part of the Government Business Stimulus payments have started to be processed by the Tax Office and the refunds are being credited to Bank Accounts. This is an automatic payment that is being processed once March BASs that include PAYGW (a figure at W2) are lodged. We are seeing refunds starting at $10,000. Get in now and lodge your March BAS to receive your refund.
