It is easy to relax given we have the best of the best firefighters in the world protecting us. If you are using wood fired/charcoal BBQs remember it only takes one amber to ignite a fire. Plan your cook with the risks in mind. - Is the firebox positioned facing the wind? When you open the firebox will the wind blow... ambers out into nearby gardens/dry grass/leaves? - Do you have a bucket of water/extinguisher/fire blanket close by? - Do you need to barricade the smoker to prevent little fingers getting burnt - Are you organised?
