24.01.2022 [Interior Renovation in the Adelaide CBD] This week we were working on a modern industrial style apartment. The client wanted to contain his kitchen and form another room as a guest bedroom/study. We built a new partition wall and installed a sliding glazed door, fitting in with the existing interior styling.

24.01.2022 [ Rot Repair ] It's important to stay on top of maintenance to the exterior envelope of your house to avoid moisture penetrating. Over time, timber can deteriorate if left uncoated and rot can occur, letting in rodents and insects. Here we have replaced all exterior timber with treated timber or natural hardwood which will stand up well to future wear and tear.

20.01.2022 [ Concrete works ] Looking to put down a shed slab, create a pathway, steps or garden edging? Using concrete is a long lasting way to transform areas for ease of access or to bring a modern finished look to an outdoor area.

19.01.2022 [ No job too small ] A small transitional platform providing indoor outdoor flow. We provided support to an existing sliding door frame at the same time as it had started to sag.

18.01.2022 [Shed Conversion] It's hard to believe that a few months ago this was just a storage shed! We've had the pleasure of working with lovely clients in Lenswood to gradually renovate it into a valuable living space. Although the photos don't really do it justice, it has come a long way since we first began. To finish it off we built a linkway from the house to the shed to provide shelter during those wet winter months.

18.01.2022 [ Exterior joinery in the Adelaide Hills ] We've been up at Birdwood replacing cladding and window frames that were starting to show their age. These new bi-fold frames are a great solution to open up a living space and maximise light.

16.01.2022 [Outdoor Finishing] Recently we created a nice finish for these overhead beams at a roof top bar in the Adelaide CBD. Here we used Jarrah panelling which is interlocked together with a Tongue and Groove system to prevent movement of joints. Jarrah makes for a smart exterior finish, adding a nice break between building materials, plus it's great to be using an Australian grown timber.

09.01.2022 [ Repairing and Replacing Roofs ] Everyone needs a sturdy roof over their head. As with everything exterior though, roofs deteriorate eventually due to exposure to the elements. We recently replaced a pergola roof and fitted the appropriate flashings to avoid moisture penetration to this house in Bridgewater. We also constructed two small window awnings to provide shade from the harsh summer sun.

08.01.2022 [ Creating a vibrant shop front ] Here's a throwback to a job we did for the shop frontage on the St Peters Bakehouse & Coffee Shop in Ridgehaven. We created this planter wall using merbau timber slats mounted on a timber cavity batten. Merbau works well for outdoor finishings with its natural ability to stand up to harsh conditions and makes the perfect partner for greenery.

05.01.2022 [ Roof Repair ] We managed to get to this roof and gutter just before winter and the heavy rain had set in. The previous roof junction had been inadequately weatherproofed and as a result water was leaking into the living area below. We designed and installed a flashing system to keep the owners nice and dry for many years to come.

01.01.2022 [Gable End Gets a Refresh] Last week we were out in Highbury where we brought this gable end back to life. Exposure to sun and general weather will gradually break down most products, leading to rot or moisture and draughts entering the building. This weather board had been there for 50 years and the new LOSP treated cladding fixed over a breathable wall wrap should last another 50. Great to see it back to its original state.
