Taylor joined our Port Lincoln facility in Jan 2017 and in that time she has developed into one of our leading technicians. She has built relationships with our clients across the Eyre Peninsula and the Upper Spencer Gulf driving for many hours and spending time away regularly. SMS Geotechnical started out as three directors and soon grew to nearly 20 staff as a multi-disciplinary company, and in 2016 opened a Port Lincoln facility. Their focus is to provide a service for clients over and above the nearest competitor, with fully trained technicians both onsite and in the laboratory. All staff, from upper management to junior staff, have technical backgrounds to provide technical assistance when required. 15.01.2022 As part of National Safe Work month we held a presentation highlighting the dangers of UV radiation and how to best protect ourselves now that summer is just around the corner. We also cooked up a Barbecue for the staff rounding off our commitment to ensuring we have a safe working environment, we engaged our staff to undertake safety checks not only of the laboratory, but of our warehouse and the office staff performed ergonomic assessments.

We are very proud to congratulate Joe Innes, one of our inaugural school leavers, for having completed his Certificate 4 earlier this month. Joe joined us at the start of 2019 and has been working on his certificate 4 in laboratory Techniques over that time. These skills provide the knowledge, he needs to succeed in the materials testing industry. We are looking forward to watching him grow as a technician as he continues to enhance his skills.

Simon is our Laboratory Coordinator and Quality Control Supervisor for some time and as busy as he is in that role, he has been able to complete his certificate while looking after our busiest laboratory, working with clients daily as well as delegating tasks to his crew.
