METROPOLITAN TADROS* Dear Beloved Congregation, Attached is a statement from our blessed father, His Eminence Metropolitan Tadros of Port Said, and Papal Delegate to the Diocese of Sydney. ... The statement notes the need for amendments to the Diocese's Church Constitution and Property Trust Act has been blessed and requested by our beloved patriarch, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, in accordance with the recommendations provided by the Papal committee that visited our Diocese in November 2019. Following early feedback received from the congregation and discussions held with Diocese Clergy, revised drafts of the Church Constitution and Property Trust Act will soon be circulated in both English and Arabic. The period for feedback has also been extended until 11.59pm on Monday 7 December 2020. Whilst we greatly encourage healthy discussion and debate, we must ensure these discussions are based on fact. The documents shown here, in both English and Arabic, set out some background regarding why these amendments were initially proposed, and why they are critical to ensure the good g...overnance and future of our Diocese. It is important to note that, from the outset, this whole process to amend our Diocese’s founding documents (and to implement a Board of Trustees structure) proceeded under the guidance of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II.
