24.01.2022 Coronavirus update How SMS Finance is handling COVID-19 Good afternoon to all our clients, families, friends and business partners. ... We have probably all heard more than enough about this virus and the actions that government, business, and individuals are taking to minimise and slow the infection rates, however, it is important we share what SMS Finance are doing as well. At SMS Finance we are committed to meeting the needs of our clients, but we are also taking reasonable precautions to ensure that you and our team are protected as much as possible. What we are doing, and how you can help: - - Wherever possible our team members are minimising wide personal contact. Already the numerous lenders who regularly visit our office have stopped this for now. - Wherever possible we are meeting with clients/lenders via phone, Facetime or Skype etc. We are keeping face to face meetings to a minimum, where possible. However, our service levels will not drop. - While it is uncomfortable for all of us, we are minimising personal contact (e.g. handshakes etc.) and maintaining some 'personal space' during meetings. - Any team member showing signs of flu-like symptoms will take extra precautions not to infect anybody else. - Regular hand washing and ensuring that all other health standards are maintained. - If you have a meeting booked with our team and you have flu-like symptoms, please call in advance of your meeting so we can make alternate arrangements. - If potential customers do drop into our Maroochydore office, we will meet with them in our outdoor area, where appropriate. A reminder to our valued clients who have existing loans that we have arranged, we are here to support and assist you with your lender. If you are in financial difficulty, please contact us and we will assist as best we can. For example, some lenders are allowing payments to be deferred for 3 months if needed.!! Likewise, should you want to look at refinancing or cash out options, or taking advantage of the Government’s investment allowance for motor vehicle and equipment purchases, we can help. We have spoken to several of our lending partners and they are developing or executing plans to continue their business as usual, as are we. We wish everybody all the best during these challenging times. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones. John McNamara, Colin Mason, Joshua Carleton, Brenden Brial Directors SMS FINANCE

22.01.2022 Homebuilder Incentives The Government’s Homebuilder incentive is very popular at the moment, but unfortunately, we don’t yet have all of the answers. We are waiting for further information regarding this program and in particular the claim forms.... We expect they will issue soon from the Queensland State Government website. HomeBuilder provides eligible owner-occupiers (including first home buyers) with a grant of $25,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home. HomeBuilder will assist the residential construction market by encouraging the commencement of new home builds and renovations this year. Keep an eye out on these websites: https://www.qld.gov.au//qld-first-h/apply-first-home-grant https://treasury.gov.au//2020-06/Fact_sheet_HomeBuilder.pdf

22.01.2022 The cash rate decision for April has been announced by the RBA with the rate unchanged at 0.25%. Just 19 days ago the RBA announced a .25% emergency cut in response to the economic threat posed by the COVID-19 crisis, reducing the rate to its lowest ever level. In response many lenders reduced fixed rates however most did not adjust their variable rates.

20.01.2022 Today, the RBA announced an out-of-cycle emergency rate cut to help the Australian economy withstand the impact of COVID-19. The RBA has reduced the cash rate to a new record low of 0.25%. If the COVID-19 crisis is affecting your financial situation, please get in touch so we can formulate a plan to manage your loan repayments during these unprecedented times.... The good news is that today's rate cut will hopefully lead to repayment decreases.
