18.01.2022 If youre walking around alone in quiet areas, pay attention to the people around you. A woman was assaulted around lunch time yesterday near the Brown rd T-Way... #Bonnyrigg. Police say he grabbed her from behind in a choke hold and dragged her behind the bus stop before punching her in the head. He ran off when she started screaming. On Tuesday night, another woman was assaulted in Harah Close, not far from the Brown rd shopping village. She was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground but the attacker ran off when she started screaming. The suspect in the second attack was described as around 16 - 23yrs old, medium build with scraggly long hair. If you have any information that can help the police, please contact Fairfield City Police Area Command.
17.01.2022 An electrical box has just exploded in #Cabramatta on Park rd, cutting off power to a number of shops and offices on the block. Firefighters and an incident res...ponse crew from Endeavour Energy are currently on scene to try and repair it. No one was injured, as far as we know and repairs could take a few hours to complete. Cabramatta just doesnt look the same without a queue of people outside that corner sugarcane drink shop.
17.01.2022 Whats happening at Red Lea Chicken #Cabramatta? Is it the end of an icon or are they just rebranding? Cabramatta needs that red chip seasoning! ... Sent in by Paul.
15.01.2022 [PSA]: A community member just sent this in to warn people to keep an eye out on the common areas around their buildings for suspicious people. A few people hav...e been seen loitering around the unlit areas of buildings on Hughes st and surrounding streets (she suspects possibly drug dealing), as well as other people rummaging through unlocked letterboxes late at night. Make sure your letterboxes are locked. If you dont have a lock, its time to get one! Shes also said to remove all papers from your letterbox as theyre using it as a way to lift your mail out (possibly looking for bank cards/cheques). Also, keep this in mind if youre coming home late at night and theres suspicious people around your building. She recommends calling someone inside the house or a neighbour to come and get you or at least watch you walk in. Its always better to be safe. Lastly, make sure you let the police know if you see anything like this happening and keep an eye out for your neighbours.

12.01.2022 Cabramatta's getting a new car park soon! Work on the new $10M #Cabramatta multi-storey car park on Hughes st, will start from next week. The existing ground l...evel car park will be closed from Thursday 21st May, to allow construction to take place. The new car park will have 220 parking spaces, a new lift and will connect to the existing multi-storey car park. There will be motorbike and bicycle parking as well as electric car charging bays. The Dutton Lane car park will have a total number of 992 parking spots once this is complete. Parking fees will remain the same - starting at $2 for the first two hours. This new car park is a big win for shoppers, businesses and local residents, Mayor of Fairfield Frank Carbone said. There will be temporary changes to traffic through Dutton Lane during construction. The exit via Huges still will only be accessible between 11am and 3pm.. You will need to exit via Hill st at all other times. Please pay attention to posted signage. 10.01.2022 Hide your valuables & your $2 coins if youre parking in the #Cabramatta multi-storey car park. You might also want to check your door locks if you parked there... yesterday or in neighbouring #DuttonPlaza. Witnesses reported seeing a man roaming around the parking lot just after 3pm "jiggling keys in cars" trying to get them open. Security were notified and he was caught raiding the Hyundai (with the doors open) and detained. Thanks to Dee & Rowen for reporting this and keeping our community safe.
09.01.2022 [PSA]: 5 people with #coronavirus have been reported to have been shopping while infectious at Stockland #WetherillPark in the last 2 weeks. A 30yr old worker a...t the Thai Rock restaurant in Stockland has also tested positive for #covid19. Dr Kerry Chant believes a "transmission event" may have also occurred at the restaurant. If you attended the restaurant between Thursday July 9 - 12th or Tuesday July 14th, you need to self-isolate immediately and get tested as soon as possible. This has been updated this afternoon since 2 more customers tested positive that dined there. [Update: https://2166.it/coswtr2] Its recommended that anyone that visited Stockland in the last 2 weeks, monitor themselves and get tested if any symptoms appear.

Reports are that he ended up reaching Cabramatta Police station. Last we heard the person chasing him was still unidentified and was described as Asian wearing a red and white top. This is a reminder to be safe and lock your doors whenever driving on the road.

06.01.2022 [PSA]: Did parking just get a little bit better or worse? NSW Parking inspectors have been granted the power to hand out demerit points. You could lose up to 2 ...demerit points for poor parking under the new laws Things like parking too close to a crossing or intersection (2pts + $377) as well as parking in a disabled spot without permit (1pt + $561). Make sure youre aware of the parking distance rules before you inadvertently get caught.

04.01.2022 [Update]: Newport chefs give their opinion: l.cabramatta.org/npprcf Who would pay $17 for a pork roll!? Apparently thats what our Northern neighbours up in #Ne...wport pay. If youre charging me $17 for a pork roll, it better be coming from some super tender suckling pig that gets daily massages and has never once rolled in a puddle of mud! 02.01.2022 [Update]: Apparently the man with the trolley was actually her husband. There are different versions of what happened in the comments below, including it all s...tarting when another woman brushed past her to the cashier not telling her where the bags were. . . . This happened today at Woolworths #Cabramatta. First she started abusing a customer and then started abusing the workers and security as well. Yes, those are her kids trying to stop her. On a side note, weve had reports of customers abusing shop workers, just because theres a shortage of food or toilet paper. Its not their fault that the shelves are empty and their work day is hard enough without constant harrassment and abuse, so if youre someone that does it, please stop. Thanks Cindy for letting us know. Video: Christian Hernandez
02.01.2022 [PSA]: The Crossroads Hotel outbreak in #Casula has now reached 21 #coronavirus cases. In light of the recent outbreak, Premier Gladys Berejiklian has now restricted standing and drinking in a pub. This is no longer allowed. Pub bookings and hotels are also being reduced from 20 to 10. Venues will also be capped at 300. If you are showing any symptoms or feel unwell, get yourself tested as soon as possible. Source: 9News
