06.01.2022 ATTENTION LIFTED 4X4's!! The guidelines on allowable lift and the limits within have recently been clarified by governing bodies. This post serves to summarise our interpretation of the requirements; relevant to the questions we get asked quite a few times a day!! The below is relevant to vehicles WITHOUT ESC.... Essentially the following is acceptable WITHOUT certification (under VSI8 available here: https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au//vsinumber8guidetomodifica ) - 50mm suspension increase - 50mm larger tyre (25mm height increase) = Resultant - 75mm Vehicle height increase Unfortunately recent attempts to have the current "high lift" guidelines altered to include larger tyres, were unsuccessful. This may be subject to change in the future, however at present the maximum lift that can be performed under certification of a VASS engineer is as follows: Total height increase of 150mm (6"), comprising of: - 75mm Suspension - 50mm Body - 50mm tyre (25mm height increase) The above are absolute maximum limits unless there is considerable cause to require alteration (i.e. emergency/rescue vehicle). Note also that second stage manufacture "SSM" kits are not recognised under the VSB14 (or aftermarket modification) guidelines.
