That's me when it comes to food! We're so excited to have this niche truck on board Snack Tracker! Our very own corn truck!! Home grown and harvested daily, these guys are the go to for a healthy snack! As well as fresh corn on the cob or in a cup, they also have good old popcorn on the... menu! 13.01.2022 FOOD TRUCK FACTS There are a stack of food trucks that are actually run by qualified chefs! Some wanting to run their own show, some wanting to be more face on with their customer, and some wanting to get out and about to events Food trucks have to go through strict health checks and have the correct licenses and registrations to trade you can't just buy a truck and rock up to your closest park to start trade ... Alot of the food is actually homemade! Bonus for nutrition purposes Gone are the days of the fatty, greasy food that food trucks were once well known for. Most of our food trucks do private catering outside of events!! It is becoming increasing popular to hire a food truck for weddings, birthdays or any celebrations...I've even booked one for a 1st birthday!! Despite what some people may think, to run a food truck is not just "rock up, serve food, rake in the cash" - something that I have heard countless times now. These guys work their butts off to bring quality and visually pleasing food to the table, just like any other small business owner. Snack Tracker is roughly three years in since conception and we have come alooooong way I can still remember having the late night meetings to discuss the creation of this very picture and to see it finally come to life with a test build, blew my mind From the first lightbulb moment to where we are now, literally fills my tummy with butterflies and I am so bloody grateful to those v...endors, organisers, coaches, mentors, tech guys, consumers, my personal support network and anyone else who has played a part in getting Snack Tracker to where it is today As every business owner knows, there is SO MUCH that goes on behind the scenes, so many hours, so many late nights and so much sacrifice. This has been a massive team effort, so for all of you that have played a role to get Snack Tracker this far, no matter how small, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart And we have so much more to come... 12.01.2022 I can't shout from the rooftops loud enough about this! I wrote a post the other day, breaking down the costs of a small local business teaming up with a multinational conglomerate. If you havn't seen it, check it out - it's the pic with the crunchy chicken wings If not, here's the final findings ... For a burger that costs $14 to the consumer, the small business you buy it from, comes out with a profit of just $2.10, if that burger went out via a delivery company (approximate costs only). This, to me, is just madness. This profit margin is legitimately enough to crush a small business. Close it's doors and send the owners broke. Cause a Mum or Dad to wonder how they will put food on their own table. This is scary AF for someone who has put their heart and soul into a business for years. Put everything at risk to follow a dream, worked 29 hours a day to get everything just right, sacrificed everything from a social life to a new car/clothes/holidays, felt the loneliness that only a small business owner knows because "no one understands", the stress, financial pressure and legal dealings...all in the hopes that it works.. ..and then it does.. ...but they receive such little profit, it becomes unaffordable to continue. Let's say they sell 25 burgers a day. $52.50 With Covid hitting our shores, we noticed an increase in food businesses sliding into the "safety" of delivery companies. Which is why we knew it was time to drop our own membership prices and ramp up our online ordering platform for those that couldn't afford to go down that road. We may not have the customer base of Uber (yet! #goals) but we do have thousands of people looking at our app every day. Thousands of people who are actively searching for local, home grown food. 12.01.2022 How many diets have you tried? I've never been a dieter, I don't really believe in it to be honest In a past life, I was a personal trainer and the amount of fad diets that came walking through the door, became laughable Soup diet, celery diet, the baby food diet...WTF?! ... I'm not a nutritionist but have learned alot over the years, being partially fascinated by food, for my own body. And I emphasise those last three words No two bodies are the same, requiring different needs for health reasons, fitness levels or weight goals. I personally love a plant based diet It just makes me feel more energetic, healthier and simply cleaner. I'm also big on not eating processed foods, filled with chemicals, artificial colours/flavours/preservatives and I'm a serial label reader Did you know that the tube from our mouth to...the end can be up to 30 feet long in adults!! That's a looong way for food to travel, so doesn't it make sense to give it the best chance possible by feeding it nutritious and easily digestible foods? I think so!!! @thetapitruck See more

02.01.2022 How's this for a gluten free option?!?! Not only are they delicious and colourful but they are also perfectly ok for those suffering from that awful little buggar called Coeliac Disease If you don't know what that is, chances are, you do know someone who suffers from it. Coeliac Disease is a condition that affects the sufferer every time they eat food containing gluten, a group of proteins found in wheat. So everything from the obvious pastas and bread...s, to the "not so obvious" sauces and even chocolates...gluten is found in a HEAP of foods and the even the tiniest crumb can have devastating effects on someone with this condition Among other symptoms, it destroys the small intestine leading to the prevention of proper nutrient absorption and causes ALOT of pain We are SUPER lucky in our household not to suffer from any dietary requirements, allergies or sensitivities (although my son will openly claim he's allergic to peanuts as he's eating a peanut butter sandwich I'll do a story on this one day!) so I'm fortunate to not have to worry about this. I do have friends who suffer quite badly and it is not pretty Fortunately, there are plenty of food options around for those that either need or want a gluten free diet. 02.01.2022 Ever needed a caterer but had NO IDEA where to even begin looking? Did you know that as well as festivals and events, most of our food trucks cater for private events as well! The popularity of gourmet food in Australia shows no signs of slowing down, in part thanks to cooking shows such as @masterchefau, contributing to a growing enthusiasm for chef prepped, quality food that is also visually pleasing It honestly still surprises me just how much foo...d these guys can fit in their trucks but we have food trucks that can cater for up to 5-600 people, some with experience catering for up to 2000 people! They're also a rising trend in weddings, with couples opting to choose a food truck as oppose to a traditional catering company. Apparently getting married is a stressful process so the last thing a couple wants is dramas with one of the most important aspects of the day (for the guests at least!). 01.01.2022 I once had a burger thrown at my face from a customer True story. I was working as a cashier at @chickentreat_au when an angry customer came back because his order was wrong and promptly threw the burger at me. Unwrapped I might add It’s funny now but at the time, it was fairly..well I guess it was funny then too But the point is, the guy was livid And I HAD to handle it in a way that no one really wants to handle it. By politely telling him I w...ould get the manager to help him..as I wiped chicken and cheese off my uniform Why? Because good customer service is numero uno. Number 1. A must have. Think about the last time someone was rude to you at a shop. No matter how good the clothes/food/product is, did you go back? I wouldn’t. Through pure stubborness, if nothing else I won’t even chase a business if they can’t return my phone call. I’ve always been big on customer service and strive to have the best for my own business.
