24.01.2022 This little Brown takes the " pain in the backside" award today. House hold owners walked in on him sliding across the hall and into the toilet. On arrival I walked in to no snake in the toilet yet there was a small gap at the back of the toilet. After removing the silicone off the base of the toilet to the floor, sliding some cardboard under the gap and managing to get the rear end of the snake out, i slowly worked it out from there. With this hot weather snakes are going to seek cool spots to escape high temps. Any gaps in external doors with cool air flowing under them are extremely enticing for a snake. Please make sure external doors are well sealed and shut properly at all times to prevent unwanted visitors coming in. 0413 511 335 available 24/7

23.01.2022 Young magpie caught up in a tree. (Excuse the poor filming) Dehydration time and a bit of tucker over night should do the trick. Has a couple of small scars that will get treated also. The family didnt seem to happy hearing it in distress. Will reunite tomorrow morning.

22.01.2022 Cool and effective. https://www.facebook.com/100007952973029/posts/2733193406955732/

22.01.2022 Cute Little Whip snake in a maintenance pit at Aldgate early this morning. Boys lifted the lid only to put it straight back down again after seeing this little fella. 0413 511 335 #snakeaway #adelaidesnakeremovals #adelaidehills #littlewhipsnake #snakecatchers

21.01.2022 That spring feeling is in the air and reptiles are on the move. As they wake from winter brumation they will be searching for food and a mate. Keep our number handy and make sure to share our post. 0413 511 335 As always if you come across a snake keep a safe distance while trying to maintain an eye on it until we get someone out. Thanks Team Snake Away.

20.01.2022 For anyone that walks there dogs down south. Keep your pooches safe. https://www.facebook.com/411938025805333/posts/1268760360123091/

20.01.2022 Robot Wars this morning while Bert had breakfast. Berts a Bredli python with a lot of growing still to go.

19.01.2022 Couple of our Murray Darlings curled up enjoying this afternoons sun. Seems like it was a good spot to bask.

18.01.2022 Release of the rescued magpie from yesterday. He ended up down the far end of the park with a large group of magies. This is always the best part of our job.

17.01.2022 Young female joey Woylie or Brush-tailed Bettong (Bettongia penicillata). These guys are crtically endangered with fewer than 15,000 now in the wild in two spots due to heavy predation from introduced foxes and feral cats populations. This little lass we are helping a few days a week hand raise. @animalsanonymous__ are helping breed these amazing little creatures.

16.01.2022 Yet another Brown falling victim to a dog today. Unfortunately this one was not as lucky as the other we posted. If you ever think your dog or cat has been a victim of snake bite, seek vet treatment straight away. Signs of snake bite include being lethargic, vomiting, pacing and generally being out of character. We have often attended jobs where the owners have already left for the vet and we arrive to find the snake still on the premises. 0413 511 335.

16.01.2022 Young Cunningham skinks on a cricket feeding frenzy this morning.

15.01.2022 One of a number of Brown snakes this weekend. Unfortunately this individual had a run in with a dog at Willunga. Dog is okay as far as we are aware. Please be mindful snakes are on the move looking for a mate and food after winter. A quick walk around of the yard may also prove beneficial before letting pets out. We are available 24/7 on 0413 511 335.

15.01.2022 There is absolutely no excuse to hit any native animal with a shovel. This is a snake from Aldgate this afternoon, paralysed in the last third of its body dragging the rest because someone with a small dick decided to get a shovel. This animal was euthanized due to the injuries. Imagine going about your day and some dick head coming and smashing you in the back because they are scared of you yet having no understanding of you. ... If you have the time to go get a shovel you have the time to remove yourself/kids/pets from the possible threat of a snake. The only time they even pose a threat is when being harassed or interfered with by humans or pets. Snakes will take any chance to avoid confrontation. Leave them alone theyll leave you alone and continue to play an important role in our environment. IF YOU DONT LIKE SNAKES OR WISH TO LEAVE NARROW MINDED COMMENTS YOU WILL BE BLOCKED FROM OUR PAGE. WE ARE HERE TO HELP NATIVE ANIMALS, NOT DEAL WITH STUPID HUMANS.

15.01.2022 "and smiiillleeee" HAPPY WORLD SNAKE DAY These 2 eastern Browns seem pretty happy they get to celebrate today.

15.01.2022 Callout for a Red Bellied Black at Mount pleasant. Snake was noticed after being by the front door and sliding behind some pots to curl up off to the side of the entrance. Owner maintained an eye on the snake until we arrived. Available 24/7 on 0413 511 335. #snakeaway #adelaidesnakeremovals #redbelliedblacksnake #snakecatchers #adelaidehills #adelaide

15.01.2022 My kind of pretzel. One of our Eastern Brown snakes during some one on one handling this evening.

14.01.2022 Happy world lizard day Can you name all 6 species?

14.01.2022 One of many mouths having lunch today at Snake Away HQ.

14.01.2022 PLEASE PLEASE be mindful as we get more consistent sunny days that reptiles take advantage of the dark heat absorbing asphalt. Yesterday I came across this Eastern Bearded Dragon on a reasonably quiet road near Monarto. I initially pulled over just to move him off and grab a photo. Due to head trauma beyond fixing he had to be euthanized though :( We understand that sometime its can be tricky in heavier traffic to avoid animals on the road but if you do hit any animal please go back and check. Who knows how long this guy would have suffered before eventually passing.

13.01.2022 Friday nights done right. Brush tailed Bettong cuddles and time spent watching Snuffles the Southern hairy nosed wombat burn off some energy at @animalsanonymous__ head quarters.

12.01.2022 Big boy standing in the middle of the road after a early call-out this morning. Always be aware on the road and respect our wildlife.

11.01.2022 Little sign out the front of some units we attended. Unfortunately no luck finding it as no one kept an eye on it. If you do come across a snake. Please keep an eye on it from a safe distance until a catcher arrives. This boosts us finding and removing it ten fold as they can slip off into nothing making our job a lot harder.

11.01.2022 Just had a friend tag me in this. Close call. Clearly in America from accent. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=268106697791641&id=100037769374434

09.01.2022 Awesome footage between a Blue Tongue lizard and Eastern Brown snake. Not all battles end like this. We often attend callouts where a snake is half way through consuming a blue tongue or shingleback. https://www.facebook.com/100253498236114/posts/180714790189984/

07.01.2022 Warren went out and removed this Brown snake from Walkley heights this morning. Property owner maintained an eye on it until he arrived for a speedy removal. Remember to have our number saved 0413 511 335. It is a flat $100 service fee this season for residential covering all areas of Adelaide.

07.01.2022 This would have been a battle to see. Native vs introduced pest. Happy to read our native could slither away from this situation after help from an understanding and respectful human.

07.01.2022 Nice size Brown from Kanmantoo. Snake was using some rodent holes as a base by a site entry gate. Yes its cold but air temps dont matter, If the sun is out long enough to warm the hide area a reptile will come out to bask. 0413 511 335 we are always available.

06.01.2022 Lizards and snakes will happily share the same hides. The old Blue tongues and Shinglebacks keep snakes away myth is one for the rubbish bin. Here we have a shingleback/stumpy hiding under the same piece of tin as a Spectacle Hooded snake. We have found Browns sharing hides with large skinks before many a times. When baby Browns hatch out their main diet consists of small skinks. As they get older and larger it isnt uncommon for a large Brown to consume an adult Blue tongue or Shingleback.

06.01.2022 We keep hearing of people paying $150+ for snake removal. Yea its high risk but far out. We charge a flat $100 Catchers based southern/northern suburbs as always. Now based in Mount Barker covering alot more of the hills along with Murray bridge through to Strathalbyn. Save our number 0413 511 335

05.01.2022 Gorgeous little Brown snake curled up under some tin down the side of a shed this morning. House backed on to a fully so clearly was a good spot to shelter for winter.

05.01.2022 Brown snake from a telecommunications pit at Two Wells. With this consistent sunny weather we are starting to get a steady flow of callouts already. Keep our number saved for this coming season 0413 511 335. We are available 24/7 to attend all native wildlife callouts throughout the Adelaide region from Gawler to Goolwa to Murray Bridge. Now is also a great time to clear up any rubbish piles, stacks of firewood or composts and even begin or put down new rodent baits/traps to help prevent a food source and hiding place as the weather starts to warm come spring.

03.01.2022 Now we all know bees play a special part in our environment. But how amazing is this for an awesome step in a good direction to fight off breast cancer https://www.facebook.com/107637365950776/posts/3665828000131677/

02.01.2022 Snake from Gawler yesterday. Remember to have our number saved 0413 511 335.

02.01.2022 Our Fat tailed Dunnart hanging out in one of the Blue Fescues this morning after a big feed.

02.01.2022 Magpie after catching a small skink while we were on a walk while for fathers day.

01.01.2022 2 stunning Barking/Thick tailed geckos found out on a drive today. Large female and this years new hatchling. These terrestrial, nocturnal geckos get their names due to the thick tail that stores fat for the cooler months or barking geckos due to the defensive growl/barking noise they make when threatened. They are a common species throughout the Adelaide Hills and surrounding plains.

01.01.2022 Brown snakes making use of some sun. Unlike bears who hibernate, reptiles go through a state known as brumation in cooler months. They can still become active through this time if the hide site is warmed enough by being exposed to the sun or heat. Just because the air temps may seem to cool for such animals to be active they will still stir and come out to bask if the sun is out long enough to warm them or their hide.
