22.01.2022 Happy fathers day ...
22.01.2022 OK, some bad breeding news here . After an incubator spike, now diagnosed as being caused by a fan that died (at bottom left), killing one clutch of eggs (with a high degree of certainty of cause of death), something that has never happened here previously in about 15 years of using fans in fridges to incubate eggs, next in line to drop has been a serial bad performer, in a Carpet Python, with 24, eggs dropped on schedule tonight of which 18 were slugs and 6 looked OK, but t...hree candled as blanks (we had that last year for the only three good ones she laid of 17) and the three remaining normal eggs look like crap as well as in the insides do not look good, so provisionally writing them off as well. Pissed off mightily as this week I doubled the number of fans in the incubator used to bring it into line with later models we have had sitting on the shelf (also meaning a dead fan will not kill the eggs - or shouldn't) and with three powered up and ready, the plan had been to split eggs three ways (in lots of about 6) to avoid another potential mishap (or to spread the risk). A Murray Darling Carpet died of old age today, but that was not seen as sad, as the snake had a very good run and was in fact dodgy from birth. Yes all collections have deaths and we are not immune from this either. Another Murray Darling Carpet Snake is on watch for being gravid, with a definite answer due in about 2 weeks and her prior form is good. 2020 has shaped up as the worst year ever for python breeding here (based on attempts and results) and unless we pull an unlikely breeding of whites or mutants (neither expected), is likely to remain so. Any pythons bred here this season will be held for our Reptile Parties unless we unexpectedly overbreed. Same can be expected (hold all pythons) for breedings next season as well. http://www.reptileparties.com.au See more

19.01.2022 Scammer warning. Inexperienced imitators are pretending to be us online. And yes, only we are allowed to say we are the best as 1/ We proved it in court a few years back and 2/ We own the registered trademarks and 3/ We have multiple court orders against unsafe imitators restraining them from using the trademark .... which they operate in breach of. http://www.reptileparty.com.au/australias-best-reptiles-are
19.01.2022 Naidoc week 2020. A frog species was named Kumanjayiwalkerus kumanjayi in honour of Kumanjayi Walker a 19 year old Aboriginal (Black) Australian who was unlawfully shot and killed by a police officer in 2019. Hoser wrote: The species Kumanjayiwalkerus kumanjayi sp. nov. is named in honour Kumanjayi Walker, another indigenous Australian victim of an execution by a racist white Australian police officer in the Northern Territory (NT), being one of over 400 such victims in Aust...ralia since 1990. The 19 year old was shot and killed by NT Police Officer Zachary Rolfe in November 2019. Hoser also wrote: The world is full of memorials and species named in honour mass murderers, thieves and despots and it is appropriate that victims of these people should also be honoured occasionally. The paper was published in hard copy on Friday 5 June and following publication of this paper, a number of people have heeded Hoser’s words and toppled statues of racists and murderers and thrown them into rivers and lakes. http://www.smuggled.com/Newly-discovered-species-of-frog-na See more

16.01.2022 Yes it is true, the Suwannee River Alligator Snapper was a species discovered and named by Snakeman Raymond Hoser. See: Hoser, R. T. 2013. An updated taxonomy of the living Alligator Snapping Turtles (Macrochelys Gray, 1856), with descriptions of a new tribe, new species and new subspecies. Australasian Journal of Herpetology 16:53-63.... Published 29 April 2013. Full text at: http://www.smuggled.com/issue-16-53-63.pdf The name M. Suwanneensis Thomas et al. 2014, is an illegally coined junior synomym for the same species Macrochelys Maxhoseri Hoser, 2013 and so the more recent name should never be used. See more

14.01.2022 Yes, we got the registered trademark "Australia's BEST reptiles" a decade back, because quite simply we were deemed the best. Beware of unsafe imitators claiming to be the best. They are not! Some are illegally using our registered trademarks in breach of court orders and relying on Covid-19 as an excuse to escape prosecution. They are putting people's lives at risk. 10.01.2022 Snake Catcher .... Snakes everywhere .... sun is out and so are the snakes. DO NOT COPY THIS AT HOME ... Only the Snake Catcher , Raymond Hoser can hold 10 deadly Tiger snakes in his bare hands and have the photo to prove it. The point here is that with a little common sense, snakes will not bite you ... they actually avoid it! Stay snake safe and for accurate advice, stay here and avoid the fake experts on Facebook and elsewhere. https://www.facebook.com/snakemanraymondhoser
10.01.2022 OK, we do not as a rule give animal abusing haters something to laugh about at our expense, but when you run the worlds leading captive breeding facility for reptiles, not everything goes to plan ..... Today as Snakeman cleaned out a Red-bellied Black Snake Cage, the male jizzed all over the hand and it was high grade stuff. Not letting it go to waste a capillary tube was grabbed and the semen was sucked in so that it could be shoved into a fertile female. Problem was Snakeman sucked too hard a load went into right up the tube and into the mouth - Yuk! (But yesterdays efforts with other snakes were all fine well post photos of said snakes in due course) Learn more at http://www.smuggled.com/AIS2.htm

06.01.2022 Spotted in Coles Express Servo Nunawading today. Yes deadly tiger snakes like this ripper specimen have been hitching rides in cars and turning up in weird places this week. Lucky the Melbourne snake catcher, Raymond Hoser (AKA Snakeman) was on the job and keeping people safe! Also this week, snakes in a wall cavity in a big Melbourne Uni in a large building (still there when last checked .), Copperheads all over the place, including in some pallets from who knows where. A ...tree snake hitching a ride down from Queensland, turned up in east Bentleigh (remember the scientific name for that one is Charlepiersonserpens punctulatus), a massive Brown Snake, a Copperhead and a Tiger snake all in Warrandyte at the same time! More snakes in Diamond Creek, Sunshine North (again), Hillside (quite a few), etc. For the best information on how to stay snake safe this spring see http://www.snakebusters.com.au/sbsmel1.htm See more

05.01.2022 Yes it is on, Copperheads firing like our magnificent reds seen here mating! Copperheads out and about this week. Do not pick them up like seen here .... a bite may kill you, and it is illegal under state law to touch a wild reptile (not my choice of rules). Snake Catcher is getting calls every day, including cold miserable days like Monday. Beware the fakers taking out Google adverts using our registered trademarks as a trigger for their illegal adverts. They steal from... us and will steal from you if they come to your place. We have had calls from a few victims of the scammers last week and expect more in coming weeks. Learn more at: https://www.reptileparty.com.au/Reptile-Party-Scam-Warning- See more
05.01.2022 For those who thought Covid-19 was the biggest event in 2020 in the USA, think again! The big book-sized peer reviewed scientific paper by Snakeman naming 10 new species of Rattlesnakes have sent quite a few Yanks into a state of Apoplexy! And just tonight following a string of hate comments by few troll accounts elsewhere on Facebook, one of our fans sent us this one and it was too good to pass up. (Missed it? 05.01.2022 From the History books and since wholly validated by DNA studies published 10 years later: (taken from) Australasian Journal of Herpetology 6 (2009):1-21. A reclassification of the Rattlesnakes; species formerly exclusively referred to the Genera Crotalus and Sistrurus.... Raymond Hoser 488 Park Road, Park Orchards, Victoria, 3114, Australia. Submitted 24 February 2009, Accepted 1 March 2009, Published 9 March 2009. ABSTRACT In spite of the fact that the taxonomy of most rattlesnakes at the species level has been established for many years, the genus Crotalus as referred to by most taxonomists up to 2008 failed to properly distinguish relationships within the group commonly defined as rattlesnakes. The genera Crotalus and Sistrurus (the latter sometimes subsumed in whole or part within Crotalus) as defined by most authors also fails to properly delineate relationships between taxa and fails to account for the modern definition and use of the genus level in terms of grouping closely related species only. This paper principally redefines the rattlesnakes at both genus and subgenus levels, formally naming a number of well-recognised species and species groups at the genus level for the first time. In summary rattlesnakes are subdivided into nine genera for which names were previously available for a total of five. For the other four genera, they are formally defined, diagnosed and named for the first time. A further seven well-defined subgenera are also defined and named for the first time. Later workers may choose to elevate some or all of these to full genus level. Keywords: new taxa, snake, rattlesnake, taxonomy, Crotalus, Sistrurus, Piersonus, Matteoea, Cummingea, Hoserea, Caudisona, Aechmophrys, Uropsophus, Cottonus, Smythus, Pillotus, Sayersus, Mullinsus, Edwardsus, Crutchfieldus.
04.01.2022 Had a nasty letter from Zoos Victorias agents this week complaining about my superior skills with venomous reptiles and how I can handle them with my bare hands, like this highly venomous Green Mamba in Africa and not get bitten, while their moronic snake handlers attack snakes with TONGS and make frequent trips to the ICU. They are not happy that the media quite correctly view me as Australias leading snake expert and not them. Our response is that they should raise their ...standards and learn from us and stop their continual demands that we lower our standards to their dysfuntional level. PS It is not my fault the same people killed 172 people in Black Saturday in 2019 or that this year the Vic Government cannot even run Hotel Quarantine properly, because hot back packers in motels are a good root! 02.01.2022 More babies/eggs possible here including two Bluetongues (will give away all babies born - we have too many here already) and yet another Carpet Snake. Bluetongues may be overweight but not likely and Carpet snake same and if knocked up will know better in 10 days with a due egg laying date of X-mas day, with all babies probably held over for our multi-award winning hands on reptile shows. http://www.snakebusters.com.au
02.01.2022 Spring snake orgy here, pairing ups and breedings, offered male Black headed Python to cow Black Headed Python and all she wanted to do was EAT HIM!
