24.01.2022 Just a couple of carpet pythons I caught this week chilling around the house. Please be cautious when trimming the garden and walking up stairs, you never know when one of our scaly friends will be taking a break. Need a snake catcher call Bill on 0455 892 888
21.01.2022 Got a call to a snake behind a shopping complex. When I got there I found this lil guy hiding. Took the whole bait box and snake and relocated to a safer location. Once he came out the bait box was disposed of properly. Can you guess what species he is? Need a snake relocated? Call Bill on 0455 892 888

16.01.2022 Chicken pens are a popular hide spot for pythons. They can get an easy meal of the chickens or the rats and mice that come in for the left over chicken feed. In the pic you can see here there were 2 pythons chilling between the roof. Need a snake relocation call Bill on 0455 892 888
16.01.2022 A day in the life of a snake catcher..... I received a phone call from a woman today at Bunya, she had a snake in her yard and wanted it to be removed, She was happy to pay the call out fee, but didn’t want to wait the 25 minutes for myself to get to her house. I told her I’d arrange for another catcher who sub-contracts for me who was closer to do the job, she agreed to this and I asked for her details, she would only give me her street address not the house number; wanting ...only to give that to the catcher actually attending. After taking the details she did give to me, I reached out to my sub-contractor, he unfortunately was away from the area but put another catcher who was in the area onto the job; as you do. Within 15 minutes this woman rang me back and began to verbally abuse me because the catcher wasn’t who I originally said would be going out. She also abused me over the fact that she’d been waiting ‘an hour’ now would have to wait a further 30-35 minutes for this catcher to arrive, which was apparently not part what she was told. We as snake catchers are a service to the people, we put our own lives on the line to relocate reptiles that- depending on the species are quite venomous. As such we are not inclined to deal with those who so rudely deem themselves, an immediate emergency response above other clients already being attended to as this woman was making herself out to be. The snake she had was outside in her yard, so she wasn’t in any immediate danger of the reptile, I told her I would organize for the closest catcher to her, to go out and remove/relocate. Where the other catchers are, and what they are doing at the time is not on myself, being impatient, rude and abusive because you have not gotten the response you expect is NOT the way to treat someone who YOU call for help. It wouldn’t have mattered which snake service she’d have rang, end of the day the woman would have still had to WAIT for the closest catcher to arrive. The result is a cancelled call-out, and the woman now will be looking to other snake service to deal with her issue. I try my best to make sure I or the catcher I refer the job to can get there as soon as possible, I can’t do any more than that.
13.01.2022 Had some people argue that venom can be transferred by mouth (swallowing) the chart below is a handy table from Nelsen et al. 2014, laying out the difference between the three major categories of toxins.
13.01.2022 Just putting this out there.
13.01.2022 With covid-19 and winter approaching our snakes have started to go into hiding for the winter earlier than usual. Normally I am still doing a number of calls a week but have found it quieter than normal, maybe they have gone into quarantine as well. Even though they have slowed right down they can still come out on a warm day or few days. Need a snake relocated? Call Bill on 0455 892 888

08.01.2022 Amazing video has emerged of a monster croc racing a boat in the Cape. Alec Dunn was heading out to check his crab pots in Bloomfield, near Cooktown when the reptile popped up in the water beside him. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS

01.01.2022 Here we are in the middle of winter and we get a call for this lil guy in a plant pot. He had made his way into the root ball of the plant for winter. As you can see this little Eastern brown is still very active and not real happy that he was disturbed. Please be aware that our snakes don’t actually go into hybernation and take precautions when repotting plants. Need a snake relocated? Call Bill on 0455 892 888
