25.01.2022 Tigersnakes love aviaries. They love the birds, they love the water and they love the rodents that come in for the dropped seed and feed. If you see a tiger-snake simply step back slowly and give it room. They don't want to hurt you and when they see you backing away they will relax. The second most common cause of snakebite is to people who are trying to kill the snake.... Its illegal and dangerous, not to mention cruel. If you want the snake gone, call a specialist snake catcher. Trying to do it yourself can potentially put you, someone you know or your pet in hospital or worse. Don't risk it. For free advice you can call me on 0408067062.We are also available for Snake Awareness Workshops and snake removal and relocation. www.snakecatchervictoria.com.au See more

23.01.2022 Shame to wreck such a beautiful garden, but they wanted the snake gone.

21.01.2022 Snakes love golf courses but unfortunately most golfers don't love the snake. This poor guy (a healthy copperhead) had to moved along after scaring a punter who had gone to wash his balls.. golf balls of course, what else?... Call me on 0408067062 if you need snake advice, snake catcher or snake awareness workshop. Be nice to snakes

19.01.2022 A beautiful local copperhead, cute huh Originally called the Superb snake (for obvious reason) the name was changed to copperhead. I like Superb snake better but I think we're stuck with copperhead.... Anyway, stay safe, be nice to snakes For free snake advice, educational snake workshops and snake catching call me on 0408067062.

18.01.2022 This copperhead found itself stuck in a ball of discarded tape in a factory in Carrum Downs I now carry a can of cooking spray in the car as part of my rescue equipment as the oil is great for disolving different types of glue. Since this video was made we have rescued many snakes, lizards, native rodents and even birds from an assortment of sticky situations using cooking oil... Sticky traps should be illegal for sale to public in my opinion as they cause a very cruel and prolonged death for little critters. Mice will break bones and rip their own skin off in an effort to escape. Anyway, please be aware as it gets warmer and use common sense when dealing with snakes. Stay safe and be nice to snakes For wildlife emergencies, free advice and snake catching call me on 0408067062

18.01.2022 Steve Irwin Day. An inspiration for many and decent Aussie

17.01.2022 Just got back from another snake rescue on the Mornington peninsula where the snake was tangled in the dreaded bird netting. Unlike the Eastern brown snake in this old video, todays snake did not make and died before we got there. This netting kills all sort of animals, not only snakes, hawks, parrots as well as many other birds, bats, lizards, possums, echidnas have all died in this horrible net.... If you are using the net, please don't leave it lying on the ground. The snake caught this morning died in pain, it would have bitten if approached because of this pain and fear of being trapped. Every year, Australian wildlife rescuers are called to 100s of animals caught like this. If you have an animal that needs rescuing or removing, ring your local wildlife rescue and if you need a snake rescued or removed, ring your local snake catcher. For free snake and wildlife advice ring 0408067062 and if I cant help, ill hook you up with someone who can Be nice to snakes.

10.01.2022 Got called to Somerville Myotherapy & Pilates Studio to rescue this poor little copperhead. Great people work here and they are obviously environmentally aware and wildlife friendly . Bonus is now that they have had a snake, the chances of another happening are like lightning striking twice in the same place.... Cool huh Stay safe this summer and be nice to snakes. #snakecatchervictoria #copperhead #animalrescue #snakesofinstagram

08.01.2022 A couple of great pictures sent to me for ID today from Sorrento. A white lipped snake from Sorrento. This is a white lipped snake (Drysdale coronoides) Usually they are grey or tan in colour but ive caught red ones around Frankston.... They are often mistaken for dangerous snakes and killed. Also, a common victim of the household cat, which seems to enjoy bringing them into the house. Here's a cut and paste from Wikipedia that gives some more info. "The white-lipped snake (Drysdalia coronoides) is a small species of elapid snake that is endemic to south-eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania. It is the smallest of three species of snake found in Tasmania and is Australia's most cold-tolerant snake, even inhabiting areas on Mount Kosciuszko above the snow line. Growing to only about 40 cm (16 in) in length, this snake feeds almost exclusively on skinks. It belongs to the genus Drysdalia, and is often referred to as the whip snake in Tasmania (true whip snakes from Australia are in the genus Demansia and are only found on the mainland). This species gets its common name from a thin, white line bordered above by a narrow black line that runs along the upper lip" If you need a snake removal or just some advice call 0408067062. Be nice to snakes. www.snakecatchervictoria.com.au
