25.01.2022 Woma python, Monty being arboreal. Not really know for being so but it’s actually not uncommon to find them climbing trees at night to feed on sleeping dragons. @snakesdownunder.

24.01.2022 Umbrella trees in flower. Another one of Lumholtz’s tree kangaroo,Matty’s, favourites. @snakesdownunder

22.01.2022 Our meerkats enjoying treats for Halloween. @snakesdownunder

21.01.2022 Does anyone know what this is the #pupae of? Found on a vine in the zoo, coastal southern QLD. Can’t wait to see what breaks out of it.

20.01.2022 Some terrible news I’m afraid. Our salty, Macca, passed away suddenly late this afternoon. We’re all gutted. So for the inconvenience but we will closed tomorrow. RIP Big Fella.

17.01.2022 We were watching our resident common tree snake eat an eastern water skink at the edge of one of the croc ponds. Saltwater crocodile, Alice, was watching too. Got them both . Life’s tough in the jungle @snakesdownunder

13.01.2022 Male saltwater croc Munga, somewhere in there, arrived from Australia Zoo this morning. It could be a while before he shows himself to the public. The croc talk could be a bit shorter for a while. @snakesdownunder

13.01.2022 Saltwater crocodile, Munga, arrives from Australia Zoo. Not a replacement for Macca but looking forward to working with and getting to know him. @snakesdownunder

12.01.2022 New work on the termites nest on the ground in the kangaroo reserve this morning. Could we actually be going to get some rain today. @snakesdownunder

11.01.2022 Merten’s water monitor Clyde thought this was HIS basking spot. Clyde’s often wrong @snakesdownunder

11.01.2022 Yet another wild visitor to the frill necked enclosure. A male robust rainbow skink. A female was also in there the day before. @snakesdownunder

09.01.2022 Too hot to dig! (Otavi, Leo and Nelson) but someone has to keep watch, meerkat Imu.

08.01.2022 No doubt a complete accident, but a hair band found it’s way into the Merten’s water monitor enclosure and Clyde found it! Just shows how easily this sort of thing happens. Could have been a very different story in the wild with a juvenile and a solid ring. @snakesdownunder

04.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! Snake shows, croc feeding, keeper talks and snake handling begin again on December 10th. Looking forward to seeing everyone of the holiday period.

04.01.2022 Resident common tree snake. Love the neck waving. @snakesdownunder

03.01.2022 Meet our new Komodo dragon, Gili. Only temporary. Naga has gone off to Australia Zoo to meet a young lady and we have one of their boys while he’s away. @snakesdownunder

02.01.2022 We are looking for volunteers for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please PM us if you're interested.
