25.01.2022 The new and improved Snappy Gum website is live!!! We are so excited to share our experiences and insights into WA heritage with you all. Check us out at http://www.snappygumheritage.com.au

25.01.2022 A quick turnaround and then back to Yandi for Viv, Brendan and the Banjima crew. Trip 2 brought heat and humidity, thunderbolts and lightning (very very frightening me ), as well as scenic quarry locations. A pleasure as always.

25.01.2022 Brendan found a new little bush buddy! #snappyg #gumballs #joeybaby #skippy

25.01.2022 Happy National Archaeology Week 2018 from the crew here at Snappy Gum Heritage!! As you can see, our team is just as passionate overseas as they are in our own beautiful backyard! Kellie is currently carrying the international torch for us as she explores the Old World (Europe)

23.01.2022 Hey guys, for all those who wondered... this explains the current perception of how people first occupied Australia over 65000 years ago!

23.01.2022 Out in wonderful Nyiyaparli country again for the first survey of the year! Despite the blistering mid 40s heat and being attacked (term used loosely) by the biggest moth in the Southern Hemisphere (I call him Mothera), weve found the tools (see what I did there ) to battle the extremities! #pilbaraarchaeology #australianarchaeology #outbacklife #snappyg #gumballs #godzillareference

22.01.2022 SnappyGs Kellie and Jordan spent the last 2 weeks exploring the ranges and gullies in the heart of Eastern Guruma country. Lots of highs , stunning scenery and a very helpful chopper . #snappyg #gumballs #australianarchaeology #pilbarainthespringtime

22.01.2022 Snappy Gs Ryan and Brendan (with a cameo by Kellie!!) just finished a swing with a great bunch of Ngarlawangga guys. Had all kinds of adventures including multiple choppers, bush snakes and a mist to rival anything preconceived by Stephen King #snappyg #adayinthelifeofanarchaeologist #pilbara #gumballs #australianarchaeology #archaeology

08.01.2022 Enjoying the interesting weather phenomenon in the Pilbara while we wait for our chopper...

08.01.2022 I love the way this scientist has turned the study of ancient Egypt into something that can be experienced rather than simply gawked at in a museum. Sorry Indiana ;)

08.01.2022 SnappyG’s Kellie Cue will he pleased to find out that cats have been celebrated in The Peruvian Desert some 1500-2000 years ago. Check this out! Huge, ancient cat glyph found in Peru's Nazca Lines... http://www.abc.net.au//ancient-cat-glyph-found-in/12781128 See more

05.01.2022 Brendan and Jordan have gone bush! Have just reached the midway point out in physically trying, but sensory rewarding Eastern Guruma Country. Have found some superb artefacts, chopper hopped some amazing vistas and even found the time to strike a pose! Rewarded ourselves with the KING of BBQs this afternoon... dont worry... as you can see, I let the real men handle the grill #funinthesun #bushbbq #australianarchaeology #pilbara #chopperhopper #archaeology #snappyg #gumballs

04.01.2022 So, during these times of isolation, it is important to consider our own individual heritage: what do we value? What do we pass onto our kids and /or the next generation? How does this inform us of what we have today? Heres my attempt from 1983 with the old Sega SCH-3000 What treasures do you all have from the past?

02.01.2022 SnappyG’s Kellie spent last week lending a hand with the dig at Samson House stables. Big thanks to Sean, Dani and the National Trust for a fun (and very dirty!) week.

02.01.2022 Enjoying a different type of cultural heritage. Happy New Year to all and may you all have a great 2019!! Blessings from a small pub in Serbia 8)

02.01.2022 Trying to fathom what it would be like to take on Belgrade Fortress in the 17th century (after the Austrians did extensive remodeling and upgrades). The place has been under siege at least five times and has been owned by many peoples over the last few thousand years - Celts, Romans, Huns, Austrians, Turks, various Goths (as per the Asterix comics!) and the Germans. What is cool is that there is the odd catapult ball lying around!

01.01.2022 Mid-winter in the Pilbara. Not a bad office to work in. Have a great day everyone!
