Our collective features a range of Island made works including Julie Sisco Photography - mini canvases, medium to large prints, woven artworks, woven jewellery and lampshades, locally gathered seed jewellery, handprinted homewares and ceramics. 04.01.2022 Last chance to see ... It's the final day for two great exhibitions at the Woolloongabba Art Gallery. The Saving Toondah Harbour exhibition has gathered word...s from 70 passionate artists who donated works to raise money to fight the massive development on world-famous migratory bird wetland at Cleveland. Nearly every work sold within the first two hours of the exhibition, but it's worth a trip to take a peak. Upstairs, some of my Straddie artist friends in the Island_Arts_Collective are exhibiting exquisite weavings, photographs, jewellery and sculpture in their Many Moods exhibition. If the work you want is sold they'll take commissions. I really love losing myself in the works of artists who are so inspired by nature. You can hear the sound of the sea and the rustle of the paperbarks in their works. Get along and ponder how lucky we are in Australia to have beautiful places like Straddie to escape to, and how we need to work to protect them for our children.
