24.01.2022 Now is a great time to tie a fly ready for November, that resembles a termite in the water. Enjoy

22.01.2022 Termite "Sniffer" Technician indicates deep into the deep dark woods! This is how to find a termite infestation in structural timbers of an old Melbourne suburban home. Inaccessable but visible through full zoom, she looks, she sits, YEP!

19.01.2022 Big girl located multiple termite nest feeding on giant structural timbers on this wharf. It's no wonder termites can grind through houses, framing and structural timbers in houses are like toothpicks in comparison. This wharf is the width of a road and stands on pilons one storey high, it's lost 7m off it's end due to termites!

16.01.2022 YES! I am telling you there are termites in here!! Trees help keep termites out of your home. Tree maintenance through inspections help eliminate termite colonies and improves tree health.

15.01.2022 Clare McClelland Dogs may hate cats, but this cat hates dogs more! This is a beautiful example of managing our feral cat problem. Em Smyth to all scent dog trainers, we have tools that can make a difference.

15.01.2022 Slowly but surely. Another day, another infestation! Big girl nails it above and below. The CSIRO has declared that Victoria is Termite country. 1 in 4 homes are being attacked across Victoria as you read this. If your council hasn't declared it, then they are either in denial or outright lying. Beware!

15.01.2022 Man Vs Dog I had the perfect opportunity to put this to the test A home owner, who was rightly concerned with obvious termite activity (a mud trail along the skirting board) but thinking it had been dealt with, with a neighbours recent treatment and eradication.... The test of man vs dog began with me! My inspection used a combination of skills, knowledge, experience and tools to detect the live termites in multiple locations, just as any regular pest inspector would do Termites being subterranean are difficult to locate. Then it was the dogs turn. Put to the test, with her nose on the ground, she got to work! She detected an additional 6 locations, of which two being significant regarding structural integrity. This made it clear how valuable my team of dogs are as a tool for accuracy. What was also confirming was that these working dogs love what they do the more they detect, the harder they work. This boost the confidence of not only me, but that of the home owner, for they had the best tools for the job Man & Dog, what a team!

15.01.2022 Termite dog inspects tree for termites. I think big girl is telling me something

13.01.2022 You don't often find a secret room with no floor! Not sure who was the most surprised of the two of us. A great place for a stretch anyhow!

12.01.2022 Scorpions, Redbacks and Snakes! Inspecting the sub floor of most homes and structures or on preparing the work area for our dogs to sniff has led us to some interesting hair raising characters. Every job has its hazards, although some hazards are a little more exotic than others!. Dogs generally sniff around all day however don't continually expose themselves to hazards associated with Termite inspections. On doing so on an ongoing basis we have experienced some pretty nasty ...creatures. On one occasion I cracked open a termite gallery and next thing I know there was a scorpion feeding on them. I never new scorpions like Termites. Could it be too that where there are scorpions there may be Termites! termitesnifferdog.com.au

12.01.2022 So you have fallen in love with a house and can visualise your family moving in, how exciting. However, would you seriously spend $700,000+ without having the house checked out for Termites? Possibly because it's council hasn't declared it's zone a termite zone. Read our previous post on what the CSIRO and Termite Vic think about that. We can help you feel right about purchasing a new home. If your purchase offer is right and we give the OK on inspection, you can consider it SOLD. That's "peace of mind" www.termitesnifferdog.com.au

06.01.2022 Three days straight presenting at Security Exhibition & Conference. Huge array of modern technologies. It was a privilege to be given the opportunity to present on " the most sophisticated sensor known to mankind" One of our detection dogs showed everyone how it's done whilst having fun!

04.01.2022 Dead or alive! We often get asked, "How do your dogs react to old termite activity?" Here is a good example of extensive damage from a past infestation. She sniffs, she stops, she thinks, she moves on. Good girl. No positive indication, no termites... Dogs use 10% of their brain on scent discrimination! Guess how much we use, 1%! See more
