25.01.2022 Heading out this long weekend? Why not swing by and pick up a jar of my fresh Autumn harvest honey at our stall outside 25 Greenvalley Ave, St Ives... 650g jars $13 / 1.3kg jars $25. There are plenty of jars out the front. You can pay by cash at the stall or card at www.sniveshives.com.au (select free pickup). Delivery is also available.

23.01.2022 A quick post about the bush recovering after the fires earlier this year. This apiary was the most severely affected. The section of the forest here is still closed to the public.

23.01.2022 In this photo there is something in short supply, and something that I have plenty of. My little boy has a slightly increased risk from COVID-19 so we’re keeping a low profile. I will have this sized jar out the front of my house in an honesty box. If you need honey, come by, grab a jar and leave $25. The jars are 1.3kg. If you don’t have my address, call or text me.... If you know of someone who needs a delivery because they aren’t able to get to my place, I can deliver in the local area for free. Just call me on 0410440042 to arrange a delivery and where to leave the money. If you know someone in the area who is doing it tough at the moment and needs a hand. Let me know and I’ll get some honey to them for free. If you’re making a special trip please feel free to call me to check I still have jars out the front. If I don’t, I will bottle them up and replenish the stores right away.

22.01.2022 Pure bee pollen available now! The bees collect it, and in late Winter and Spring there is occasionally a surplus to what they need. It’s gathered as the bees enter the hive, dried and put it in a jar.... Bee pollen has been a traditional superfood for centuries, and it’s great on yoghurt, in smoothies or mixed with your honey (just like the bees do!). Available here: http://www.sniveshives.com.au/store/c2/Honey_Jars.html

19.01.2022 Pouring honey for the Cooma evacuation centre. They’re going distribute the honey for use on the wounds on burned wildlife. Thank you Melisha Liegl for transporting it down!

17.01.2022 Thank you for saving the bees City of Sydney! I received a call from the parks co-ordinator to remove and re-home bees from an irrigation control box. The bees are safely in my apiary where I will feed them and bring them up to strength before moving them to their permanent home. And a special thank you to The Urban Beehive for passing on my details to council. They’re a great business and was where I did my first introduction to beekeeping course in Centennial Park.

16.01.2022 Great work Telstra, saving the bees! I received a call from the Telstra manager who controls the pits on the side of the road. A lovely, gentle colony of bees had moved into this pit. They’re safely in a new home, and the pit is nice and clean.... I’ll be back to collect them after dark! Telstra

08.01.2022 When I say we can rescue bees from anywhere, I mean ANYWHERE! We had to call in the heavy machinery to rescue a colony at the top of a tree this week. The bees are happy in their new hive and fortunately a lot closer to the ground in the rescue apiary.

06.01.2022 Fresh local honey delivered to your door! Just because you need to stay home, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fresh local honey.
