14.01.2022 This is the very start of our pasture improvement journey. Every year we have seen some kind of weed take over - first it was the year of the farmers friend, then it was the year of skeleton weed, then we had a year of the thistle and this year is definitely the year of African love grass. All these weeds mean the amount of sheep we can carry on the property is significantly reduced and we have a monoculture of grass. Diversity is what we are after. We are very much against mass spraying, so this is what we need to do - slash, put stock on it intensely and then over sow with a winter grass. Realising it takes a very, very long time to slash a 20 acre paddock with 6 foot slasher! #pastureimprovement #wholisticmanagement #regenerativeagriculture #countrynsw #landcare

My husband then laughs at me... huge shout out to our amazing neighbours @floydeeey and @indiaromeoalpha for delivering our new (old) baby in our absence. Seriously, good neighbours are absolute lifesavers particularly in the country and we couldnt wish for better ones. So this is our seeder! It will start our regenerative journey for real.
