25.01.2022 Short video of a couple of the pups we retained from the last 2 litters (3 of the 4 retained) & our retired girl Gypsy (Zeefree Squeak). Gypsy's daughter is the pup without a Collar 'Bron' sired by Cooks Coop just turned 3mths old. I really like this pup so hoping she will continue to impress as she grows. The other 2 pups with collars are from the Brinaway Spot x Primrose Valley Tess litter the one with the Teal collar is a bitch ' Gemma' growing into a nice type & the othe...r in the grey collar is a dog 'Toby' who hasn't the greatest looking head for my personal liking but his ability will be more important...so just wait now & see how they grow they are 3.5mths old. We sadly made the decision to put their mother Primrose Valley Tess to sleep this past weekend due to quality of life issues stemming from her loss of a front leg...such a shame as she was just a young dog so we are very grateful to have 3 of her pups to run on.

25.01.2022 2 of my main dogs Zac & Beau getting to stretch their legs to cast & gather some ewes in nice big open paddock at home thisarvo.

21.01.2022 Snowview Panda & Cooks Coop 1st day working together on the job. These 2 youngsters are a day apart in age & 'chalk n cheese' in their style but actually work very well together. They work independently & are a pleasure to handle for young dogs. Coop is only just starting full work I've taken more time with him letting him mature before asking too much of him & he is only just starting to learn to drive today...which he is handling well although a bit confused which is norma...l. He has struggled to go from small mobs to large mobs which had me a bit worried but has put it together quickly of late & showing improved mob sense....he is a highly talented dog as his breeding should suggest but has struggled with handling big mobs as a negative about him. Panda is more advanced in terms of full work & driving stock, she is small nimble & quick but has excellent mob sense & cover. She has been a dream dog to start & introduce to full work. All our dogs must draw & drive with ease without fighting me to get to the head all the time as we do more driving in the work I do so a young dog must show they are pliable to come behind with ease without having constantly watch them & fight with them to settle behind.

20.01.2022 A little bit of a longwinded rant here but I find it interesting reading through discussions esp. on FB relating to peoples views & experience with certain working dog topics....one I am following at the moment is a discussion about white/light coloured dogs drawing sheep & making working sheep for the dog harder & people avoiding white dogs.... People can go back n forth on their views on this forever & never agree but it is relevant for us as we do have a number of white he...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Can see why this place is called 'Green Valley' ...such awesome views. Zac & Spot bringing in some ewes & rams today.

14.01.2022 Beau telling me he knows there's sheep up there...he's a quirky bugger but effective & handy nonetheless

12.01.2022 I really like this young bitch Snowview Panda. She's done a bit of work mostly easier jobs on her own or working in a team but asking her to step up a level now. I Cast her 500m+ semi blind up a hill to cut off & draw down these ewes while my senior dogs were busy with the remaining mob & thought she handled it quite well.... she had traveled them down a fair way before I started filming as I needed to give her a draw to point before crossing a gully & the sheep were looking for 'outs' all the way making her stretch the legs do some work. She has a lovely natural ability to wrap sheep up & settle them.

11.01.2022 So excited to announce Snowview Belle welcomed 7 new little bubs to the world yesterday...4dogs & 3bitches all very healthy & strong. Sired by our old Patch (stationbred allrounder paddock/yard) who produced 2 handy pups when bred to Belle's mother Pippa (we retained Snowview Panda). Belle is by Snowview Tex x Stationbred Pippa (who carries trial breeding on her damline).... Expecting these will grow into very handy allrounders. These pups are actually 1/8 koolie instead of pure collie, Belle's grandsire on the sireline was Snowview Wyatt...a koolie I bred in the early 2000s who was my #1 dog for over 14yrs & certainly the best yarddog I ever had & may ever have...who I crossed with Zeefree Squeak to add some more eye into the progeny (koolies are plain/loose eyed) which resulted in an extremely handy litter & Snowview Tex carried the bloodline forward...I'm hoping Wyatts influence in regards to yardwork comes through in these guys. No doubt they will be handy paddock dogs nonetheless. Most of these pups will be run on & started however EOI welcome.

08.01.2022 Been following a few posts on FB about the use of Runner ducks & looking at the comments made on the posts decided I'dgive my 2cents worth here. We use ducks with our dogs....some 'wiser then me' trainers laugh at it...as I once did before actually giving it a go & seeing some real benefits to it. I always get asked (or told for that matter with some) 2 questions in particular however......Continue reading

07.01.2022 2 of our retained pups fully switched on today at basically their 1st real look at stock. Snowview Toby (mostly black dog) & Snowview Bron (black & white bitch)...they are from different litters but both have Princes Timmy as a grandsire they are 6-7mths old. They not only showed interest & nice ability but also stepped straight into real work in yards & paddock without any drama whatsoever.

06.01.2022 Can be handy having big casting dogs when your still too chicken to take the buggy up & around the hill like the boss (its waaay steeper than it looks in the video it's still way outside my comfort zone unfortunately) to get the sheep that I'm sure know I'm completely lacking skills in here & always leg it to where I struggled to get them without Zac (there are fences to contend with up top so dogs can't clean draw them down).... safe to say this paddock isn't one on my str...ong points when it comes to mustering it the black dog Zac should get the entire credit & pay for any sheep brought out of here I'd be screwed without him... Spot is only just starting to be sent on finding casts but also did a good job...he needs to learn to back off the throttle & conserve himself on long hilly casts he was completely spent by the time they got them half way back.
