25.01.2022 Latest Covid update EV emailed it out today 14/8, but it’s dated yesterday 13/8 I hope everyone is staying safe & healthy

23.01.2022 COACHING UPDATE Equestrian Victoria is still awaiting formal government advice re travel and care for horses under COVID-19 Stage 3 and Stage 4 Restrictions. ...We will update our community as soon as that advice is formalised. In the meantime, please be aware of the following for COACHES. COACHING STAGE 4: From 11:59 PM on Wednesday 5 August, coaches and trainers resident in Stage 4 must work from home and use online and video conferencing facilities to deliver their coaching and training. The exception to this rule is if the coach/trainer is providing services to a rider/s already within their household. STAGE 3: Coaches may continue to coach outdoors and those receiving instruction can only do so with one other person or household member, and only under the following conditions: * Coaching may take place at private and/or agistment facilities or at Outdoor Facilities if there are no safe areas at the private facility and those Outdoor Facilities meet the following conditions: - public gathering and physical distancing limits (1.5 metres and only with one other person or household members) can be adhered to - there is no use of shared equipment or communal facilities. - For outdoor facilities that meet the requirements above and where access is controlled by a club, a booking system is required to be in place to ensure that all restrictions are met. * You can go horse-riding with members of your household or one other person, plus an instructor if required. You should not travel further than you need to, and you should horse ride at the closest available location to your home. * Those receiving instruction should NOT travel outside their local area nor travel distances for coaching. The movement of persons should be kept local. The floating of horses to coaching facilities outside your local area for training is considered non-essential travel. * Coaches may not travel into a Stage 4 area to coach. * You must be able to keep 1.5m distance between yourself and others * Strict hygiene practices must be practiced * Any shared essential equipment such as gates, jump wings, dressage arenas etc should be sanitised before and after use. Sharing of equipment such as helmets gloves and whips is not permitted. #staysafe #equestrianvictoria #lovethehorse

21.01.2022 COVID-19 RELEASE ADDITIONAL UPDATE TO STAGE 4 RESTRICTIONS Statement as at 9 August 2020 Equestrian Victoria continues to advocate on behalf of our members and ...provide appropriate advice on a regular basis. We have a further update as to Stage 4 Restrictions as released by DHHS today. We wish to make it very clear that RECREATIONAL horse riding under Stage 4 restrictions remains a prohibited activity. However, you CAN continue to care for your horse, including the provision of EXERCISE, under ANIMAL WELFARE GROUNDS, on the property where the horse is kept, unless it is IMPOSSIBLE to do so, but floating of horses to third party locations is prohibited. The provision of EXERCISE is for the WELFARE of the horse, and NOT as a recreational activity. There are also some other important changes to community sport under the latest restrictions, including High Performance and Professional Sport which may apply to many of you who are Equestrian Victoria members. COMMUNITY SPORT Under Stage 4 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne, all community sport and recreation organisations must close their facilities. HIGH PERFORMANCE / PROFESSIONAL SPORT There are updated guidelines for the high performance and professional sport sector - if you operate within this sector, please read this guidance note carefully to understand your responsibilities under the latest restrictions: https://sport.vic.gov.au//return-to-play-for-high-performa Under Stage 4 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne, high performance and professional athletes are permitted to train but competition is not allowed. Under Stage 3 restrictions in regional Victoria, both training and competition is permitted, where venues and organisations have a compliant risk management plan in place. For high performance and professional sport, the new Chief Health Officer Directions for those operating under Stage 4 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne includes: advice for athletes to train at home and minimise travel where possible new restrictions on contact training the requirement to have a COVIDSafe Plan the requirement to complete a Permitted Worker Permit for every athlete and essential employee travelling to the worksite. In order to qualify under high performance exemption, you must be an Equestrian Victoria Member and you need to complete the form, https://www.business.vic.gov.au//c/permitted-worker-scheme AND email to: [email protected] DHHS https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/sport-and-exercise-metropolitan DHHS CORONOVIRUS HOTLINE 1800 675 398 RSPCA https://kb.rspca.org.au//how-can-i-ensure-my-horses-welfa/ SPORTS AND RECREATION VICTORIA HIGH PERFORMANCE https://sport.vic.gov.au//return-to-play-for-high-performa This is a changing environment across every aspect of our lives, and we thank you for your patience. Please take care of your family, friends and equines and stay safe. Matthew Brown Equestrian Victoria CEO #staysafe #lovethehorse

21.01.2022 G’day folks! We will remain open throughout stage 4 lockdown but law has dictated a few changes to how we run things. We are allowed to operate as a ‘drive thro...ugh service’ only. This means you can NOT get out of your car at our store. We ask that you drive into the shed on arrival so we can serve you more efficiently. Some cars are really quiet and sneak in undetected. So please honk if you’re left waiting. We recommend you call through your order for contactless pick up. If you can pay by credit card over the phone, we can load your boot, Ute or trailer when you arrive. We will still accept eftpos (our machine is mobile so we can bring it to you in your car) and cash. We are required by law to record your details if you stay at the shop for over 15 minutes. We will ask to record your details should you exit your vehicle while at the shop. This way of doing things will undoubtedly cause delays. We ask you to bear with us as we do our best to serve you. If there are any questions, please message us, comment or call us. We will answer you as quickly as possible. We are still offering free deliveries for orders over $100 (not including red gum or round bales) Monday: Bayles, Catani, Nar Nar Goon, Longwarry, and surrounding areas. Wednesday: Lang Lang, Loch, Grantville, Bass, Almurta and surrounds. Thursday: Tooradin, Cardinia and surrounds. Stay safe friends, and thanks for continuing to support your local feed store as we work through these crazy times.
