25.01.2022 Just an update on the fires in and around the adaminaby area. We have completed a major strategic burn at Denison last night and being monitored, we still need ...to complete burns in the youak and Bolaro area’s we are expecting more erratic fire behaviour heading into Friday with higher temps and stronger winds. Don’t be complacent yet, we still have days of elevated fire danger and some fires that are still active within containment lines. Thanks to my awesome team who are working tirelessly to keep our community safe, these guys are the real hero’s.. See more

24.01.2022 Over 500,000 hectares has been burnt in the NSW high country, spreading across into Victoria. A warning that some of these photos may be distressing. These pict...ures show the destruction of the Selwyn Snow Resort, the historical town of Kiandra, Sawyers Hill, and where the fires have torn through wild horse country. You can also see where incredibly strong winds flattened a highway sign. The fires are all currently sitting at an Advice alert level with firefighters working hard to get them under control as we head into severe fire danger tomorrow. Matt Roberts

24.01.2022 Very sad - Please don't hesitate to contact the cottages 6454 1120 if you have any questions regarding bookings.

23.01.2022 We have been fortunate to have a number of Canadian and American colleagues join our Incident Management Team over the past few weeks. Their expertise and exper...ience to help protect our communities has been invaluable. So we were delighted to be able to arrange a visit to see some of our famous furry friends at the Two Thumbs Wildlife Trust Koala Sanctuary and Rehabilitation Centre yesterday. Sadly, part of the sanctuary was burnt during the recent Good Good Fire, one of several bushfires in our area that has burnt through important koala habitat. The sanctuary continues to take in koalas and other wildlife impacted by recent fires. Thank you from so much to our Canadian and American colleagues and James from Two Thumbs Trust for opening up the sanctuary to us for a very special visit. 14.01.2022 We are close to the end of another smokey day.

06.01.2022 Thanks everyone for your messages, calls and thoughts - all animals and structures are alive and standing. Cold weather here until end of the week, so hopefully they can get some of the fires out by then. So far more than 550000 ha have burnt. We are fine. The local fire fighters are just remarkable and working mostly by themselves - don't know how they can keep doing it.

04.01.2022 So much power at paddy’s river falls at @tumbarumbaregion @visitsnowyvalleys . #waterfall #lotsofwaterfalls #scenic #easytosee

03.01.2022 See you all next winter.

02.01.2022 There is no doubt the loss of Selwyn Snow Resort is a massive blow for the region, and in particular Adaminaby, but I'm committed to helping the community get b...ack on their feet. The rebuild of Selwyn Snow Resort will be fast tracked, so as to have minimal impact on the Adaminaby economy. In addition, I'm working with the community on an alternative option to ensure tourists still visit Adaminaby this snow season. And of course the rebuild of Selwyn over the next 18 months will also bring opportunities for local businesses, with the influx of local contractors and tradies.
