25.01.2022 Thank you, Kylie Showman, for the opportunity to speak to the wonderful eduacators at Gidgillys. It was a fantastic group who are so enthusiastic about optimising the growth and development of children.
25.01.2022 Here's some valuable advice from ENT Specialists Australia: If your child is struggling at school, make sure its not because theyre struggling to breathe properly when they are asleep. Ask the team at Snowy Mountains Dental how we can help. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22945405/
24.01.2022 To our valued patients, Whilst our standard infection control measures go above and beyond what is required, we have implemented some additional measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Any patients who are experiencing gastro-intestinal or ... cold/flu symptoms must avoid entering the practice and telephone or email to reschedule their appointment Hand sanitiser is located in the foyer and must be used before entering the practice Increased spacing of chairs in the reception area Removal of all reading material and toys Option to remain in your car, or outside the practice until we are ready to take you through to the treatment room. Please advise us if you wish to do this. Regular disinfection of all doors, handles, furniture, EFTPOS and HICAPS terminals and pens. We encourage contactless transactions to reduce cash handling. Prior to every appointment, every patient will be given a mouth rinse to gargle for 30 seconds to reduce any potential viral load. Let's work together and support each other so we can get through this challenging time. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Please telephone on 6456 1870 or email [email protected] should you have any questions or if you would like to schedule an appointment. From the team at Snowy Mountains Dental.
19.01.2022 Mouth breathing is not normal and therefore cannot facilitate normal development. Come and see us at Snowy Mountains Dental and we can help assess and manage these conditions in both children and adults. The sooner the better!

18.01.2022 Snowy Mountains Dental is very proud to be supporting the Share the Dignity charity once again this year. Fill a pre-loved or new handbag with some essential personal care items (shampoo, conditioner, sanitary pads/tampons, soap/body wash and perhaps a special gift or a message) for someone doing it tough this Christmas and put it in the collection box in the foyer of our practice from 8.30am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday. We will add a toothbrush and toothpaste to every bag that comes in. To arrange an after hours drop off, please PM us. #itsinthebag, #sharethedignity

16.01.2022 At Snowy Mountains Dental, we are always trying to think of new ways to be more environmentally friendly and sustainable without ever compromising patient care. Our newest initiative is our toothbrush, toothpaste and floss packaging recycling program. Drop off your shaggy dog electric or manual toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and empty floss containers and we will send them for recycling.
15.01.2022 Just a reminder to let everyone know that the team at Snowy Mountains Dental are here to help in the event that you have a dental emergency. Please call 6456 1870 or email [email protected] and we would be happy to help however we can. Do remember to let us know your contact details so that we can reply to any messages. Please do not enter the practice unless you have a scheduled appointment as our reception area is unable to accommodate many people at once. In the event that you have a dental question that is non-urgent, we would be happy to receive emails to request advice. We also have a standby list for those who wish to be contacted to schedule appointments once we are fully operational again, so do get in touch. We would love to hear from you.

14.01.2022 More and more evidence is emerging that shows how our microbiome and our bodies interact. The bacterial profile in our saliva is determined largely by the environment we create in our mouths and this means that diet, how we clean our teeth/gums, toothpaste, mouth rinses, medications etc are directly able to affect our susceptibility to disease elsewhere in the body.https://www.heart.org//bacteria-in-your-spit-might-play-a-
12.01.2022 In our experience, those who have poor dental health often have more systemic disease. A decline in dental health is often the first sign that something is not right systemically and this is the reason that regular examinations and maintenance appointments are so important. https://bigthink.com/surprising-science/oral-health

05.01.2022 If you find yourself rushing to the toilet at night, it might be because your blood oxygen levels are going down low. So if you snore or mouth breathe and have this problem, you may well need to see an ENT Specialist. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31260616
