21.01.2022 Snowy Mountains BMX club update... Finally... So it's been a while since we updated everyone on the progress of the BMX track in Jindabyne. But we have been working hard in the background, finalising everything with Jindabyne Sport and Rec, our track designer Dirtz as well as suppliers and local contractors for the build... and we are getting close. The track design is now finalized and we have a start gate sitting in Sydney ready to install. We have already had a large amoun...t of dirt delivered to the site and have scheduled excavation to start in mid March. If all goes to plan on the build we should have the track finished and ready to race by late April. Our club is all set up and we will be running a community information night very soon to give you all the info on the club and how to get involved... It's been a LOOOONG process getting this far but it's all coming together now... Keep an eye on this page as we will be ramping up the updates as track construction starts very soon... John, Mike and Jaki...

19.01.2022 July Update: Good evening everyone. Today we met with a representative from the state government to discuss the further development and construction of our track in Jindabyne. We were met with amazing support and are happy to say that the meeting was a huge success. This is a big step forward for us as a club and hopefully we will have some much needed funding in the near future to begin construction on the track. We submitted a grant application recently which if approved ...would see the track completed in one go. The meeting today was to discuss other possible funding should we not be successful. Now we have the support of the State government, things should hopefully move forward faster. The mission is not over yet but after today we are one BIG step closer to our track! We thank you for your support and patients in this endeavour as it is a huge undertaking. We can say that once it’s all go, you won’t be disappointed with the result! Thanks again John Graham- President

07.01.2022 Hi All. Sorry we’ve been quiet for the past few months. With Christmas and new year well behind us now, we have been working away behind the scenes to get things sorted. The good news is we have the funds now to build the track, we have our design being finalised and we are going through the formal motions with Sport and rec to get everything finalised for the build. Our initial plans were to have the track built by the end of April but due to some unexpected matters arising ...we have had to push it back until September/ October. With that said, we should have a fully functional track by the end of October so we can have a solid 6-7 months of racing through to the end of May! We will keep you posted on any other info that arises. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to getting membership applications started in the coming months! Cheers John Graham President- SMBMX

03.01.2022 Snowy Mountains BMX Club is super excited to have received our first set of track designs from Dirtz Trax N Trailz for the Snowy Mountains BMX track. Check out the images below for a look at what we are planning to build. The track will be a standard 4 straight design that meets the BMX Australia and UCI standard for a national level track. The start hill will be 5m high and the track design will allow us to hold state and national level races. We have been in discussions wi...th the Office of Sport about the possibility of the track being located at the Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre, which is our preferred location. At this stage we are preparing a detailed proposal for their consideration. We are hoping to have all our plans in place for the track over winter and, if fund-raising goes to plan, start construction later in the year. Hopefully we'll be racing by Christmas. Keep and eye on our Facebook page for updates...

03.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone, How was the wind last night!! It’s been a little while since we last posted any updates. Coming into winter we are all battening down the hatches to prepare for a busy season. ... With that said, there is still plenty going on behind the scenes. We are in the final stages of the approval process now. Within the next few weeks we should have all the formalities sorted, signed and sent off from the powers that be and we will be able to lock in our track builders to come and get things underway. At this stage we are hoping to get construction underway in September, we have to allow a month for the track to settle after completion but we should, (if all goes to plan) be able to begin racing by November. That will give us a solid 6 months of riding and racing! We will keep you updated as things progress and hope that you are all still super keen to get involved with the Club at some level. Until then, have a great winter season, enjoy the snow and we will see you on the other side! Cheers John Graham President- SMBMX

01.01.2022 Hello one and all. We have been inundated with interest in the club this week and we are all very excited and amazed at the amount of interest and positive feed back we are recieving. We have been asked a lot of questions and are attempting to respond to everyone in due course. Our main question has been when is this all happening. For now the only info we can provide is that the club is working closelt with key players within the region to create the best race track we can ...and in the best location possible. Once we have confirmation from these key players we will release all the information and let everyone know what our plans are. Until then we ask that everyone who is interested in joining the club send their details via inbox to this page and we will record all the info and send out info as soon as we have it. We can say that we will be organising an information and sign on day in early 2017, we hope to have the track up and running to begin racing in September 2017. We are all very excited and if you can provide any assistance we would be glad to have it. Thanks again for all the support. Cheers John Graham President SMBMX
