25.01.2022 Tasmania Fire Service has declared an end to the fire permit statewide from 2am tomorrow (Thursday 26 March). This means that anyone in Tasmania intending to li...ght a private fuel reduction burn will no longer require a fire permit to do so. Even though permits are no longer required, landowners who plan to light burns on their property should: be mindful of the weather be prepared with an adequate water supply have access to firefighting equipment be physically capable consult with the owners of neighbouring properties, particularly those with vulerable crops such as vineyards. This update brings the north and south in line with the north west which had the permit period revoked a fortnight ago. At all times burning on private property is governed by local council by-laws which must be adhered to and environmental laws which govern smoke emissions. Property owners planning to burn on their land should visit fire.tas.gov.au for further information. Call 1800 000 699 to register their burn to prevent an unnecessary visit from a local brigade.

15.01.2022 Many of our firefighters have been affected by or experienced cancer, suicide, mental health and testicular cancer directly and indirectly. So our mo-bros of Snug Fire Brigade are growing it for the cause! Please donate as little or as much as you can for the year of Mo-vid-19!! https://movember.com/t/snug-fire-brigade?mc=1

15.01.2022 We’re very proud of our 3rd Officer Simon Leonard and his completing the Remote Area Team (RAT) firefighting program with TFS. Whilst we will miss his face around the station, this fire season his priority will be attending with the many other recruits to tackle those hard to reach areas that may take hold. It can be toilsome and exhausting work in dense and difficult territory with minimal access to water. These guys deserve our utmost respect and we wish Simon and the rest of the team all the best!

14.01.2022 Unfortunately, this year we are unable to honour the service and sacrifice of our ex-servicemen and women with our attendance to Woodbridge's Dawn Service & Snug's 11am Service. Instead, Snug Brigade members will be standing as one with all Australians at the end of their driveways at 6am on Anzac Day to remember all those who fought for the freedoms and lifestyle we enjoy today. We have pledged to #LightUptheDawn on Anzac Day.... Lest We Forget.

12.01.2022 Have you cleaned your heater flue yet this year? Here's a couple of examples of what can happen if it's not cleaned properly... Please ensure yours is clean so you don't get a visit from us!

One of our members drove through at 9pm and is quite concerned.
