25.01.2022 Things to be aware of while it’s still warm out Remember to be especially careful when walking your dog on the hot ground. Although their pads are pretty sturdy, they can burn and blister easily on a hot ground (especially while walking or running) Early mornings and late evenings are generally the cooler parts of the day if you don’t want to miss your daily walks, or try walking on grassed areas (with shade and water available)

13.01.2022 Summer clips, action-dog haircuts, or because the length is ‘easier to manage’ - shorter haircuts can have their benefits! Although the fluffy and scruffy look is super cute, sometimes the practicality of a haircut shines brighter than the sun on an Australian summer’s day Many of our clients opt for a shorter clip this time of year, for different reasons: Dogs that love swimming and getting dirty.... Having shorter hair means that they can dry a lot quicke...r and they don’t get leaves, sticks (and more) stuck in their fur Dogs that have a long thick coat can feel more comfortable and cope better with a shorter length in the warmer weather Dogs with shorter styles can be easier for owners to manage - this might include the at-home grooming needed, or it could be a financial advantage, as you can get longer out of a haircut to grow back before the next groom Let’s be honest, there are so many dogs that still look good with a short clip!!! If you’re unsure on what length your dogs fur would benefit from most, you can ask our friendly & knowledgeable groomers!

13.01.2022 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Belmont & Dudley are now booked out until next year If it weren’t for all our wonderful clients, we would not have the opportunity to be kept so busy in the salon every day, we really appreciate it! ... Thank you for choosing Soapy Pause to love & pamper your pawed pals

12.01.2022 Time to shed for summer You might be surprised that Poppy has so much hair to lose, but it’s that time of year where double-coated dogs are needing their under coats de-shed It not only makes them look & feel fresh, but you won’t have so much hair to vacuum up at home either! #winning

11.01.2022 Name: Spud Age: 6 months Breed: French Bulldog, aka ‘Frenchie’ Level of cuteness: Over Fun fact: The French Bulldog actually originated in England! ... It just became a more popular breed in Fance - so much so that there was a larger population of Frenchies’ there than what there was in their home country. Hence, the name! See more

03.01.2022 We hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend and escaping the heat! Remember to make sure your mate has plenty of water and shade, and don’t worry about walking them if the ground is too warm - although their pads are pretty tough, they can easily burn on hot surfaces..they also have sweat glands in their paws, so keep ‘em cool!

03.01.2022 SINBAD & TILLY

02.01.2022 If you are unable to show up for your appointment, please call or text the salon and let us know - at least a day in advance. Please be considerate of our groomers’ time and other dogs needing to be clipped - if you can’t make your appointment, it can be filled by another dog that is waiting to get in - so the more notice we get, the more time we have to organise another client to come in Also on a side note, please ensure your pawed pal has been to the toilet before... you bring them in to the salon - our groomers appreciate the time saved by not having to clean up after them, and more time to wash and clip TIA

01.01.2022 TICKS As the weather warms up, the concern for more tick activity grows. Paralysis ticks can be deadly to your dog. The most effective way of ensuring your dog’s safety is to give them tick preventatives that you can get from your vet or pet store.... Getting your dog’s coat cut shorter for the season is also great (depending on the breed, of course), as you can more easily see and feel any ticks on their bodies when doing daily checks. Did you know, that there are 70 different species of ticks found in Australia Below is a tick identification chart that you may find helpful Signs of tick paralysis include: - Weakness in the hind legs (can progress to affect front legs also) - Vomiting / regurgitation - Heavy salivation - Difficulty breathing / panting, noisy breathing: possible grunting If you’re concerned that your dog has been affected by a paralysis tick, you should contact your Vet immediately
