24.01.2022 Soaring Eagles 43 - Balls Deep 48 Another week being cooked in the oven by the heat as well the seags inability to convert from boards. The boys looked good early with Jimmy and JT leading the front court on a few loose possessions and ballard with hands as hot as reados on the post match ponies. Whilst the bigs sat and reserved energy for the illustrious post game The Edinburgh Hotel & Cellars appearance that seems to be dividing some of the seags culture. The game was kep...t in close quarters until a few brick layers on the other team managed to build some property around the ring and take a lead. Still struggling to find much range from the 3, the help of shoulder muscles and charm meant ballard and clark kent began to overpower in the paint and bring some of the lead back. Balls deep boisterous sideline displays led the boys to frustration similar to that of JT putting in work all Saturday night only to go home sausage in hand. The boys did well to stay in the game but ended up being another one of those nights. Another unfortunate night for both the seags and the ed as the perfect time-slot was only capitalised on by a select few and talks of lost cultured echoed throughout the prepubescent beer garden...

13.01.2022 Soaring Eagles 43 - Squeaks Squad 41 Close win for the Seag’s but more importantly an absolute barnstormer for Seniòr Reados on the punt postgame. With movember around the corner the max handsome factor of early October is long gone, the slick haircut and rippling muscles of Brad Sipek replaced by one very Norti Jordy and his thicc handlebar moustache. The boys hopped on Norti’s handlebar early last night as he steered them to a couple of early buckets out of the gate. ... Squeaks squad were competitive and knocked down plenty from distance to keep the boys playing good, solid defence. After putting in overtime on the weekend at a meet and greet for Seagle superfans Ballard continued the hard yakka last night. Mr disco showed off his impressive vertical to hustle down offensive rebounds and put away a couple second chance points. Between Norti, Ballard and some textbook tradie JBell energies the boys went into the main break down 2. Turner and Nath couldn’t buy a bucket (maybe because they didn’t bring any money to the game) but what they lacked in accuracy they more than made up for with man-buns and defensive effort. When the Seag’s needed to lock down the Squeks the boys at the front of the zone stepped up and locked down the front. With the game close late Buff grabbed a rebound and went coast to coast. Norti sent home a contested lay-up and Reados nearly sunk a triple that would’ve rocked the Squeks harder than a heyday chef special. Up 2 and protecting the lead the boys upped the chat to Lakey talking about the ASX spec to close the game out. Postgame the boys celebrated their victory in the The Edinburgh Hotel & Cellars by celebrating with Reados as he won enough money on the dogs to almost pay off the Seag’s match fee debt.

12.01.2022 Rams 45-36 Soaring Eagles With the liebing brothers out sporting hereditary hand holding injuries, jbell terrified of a post 7pm bedtime and jordy no where to be seen after committing to the season, the boys went into the oven understaffed. With the 2nd string brother’s combination, supported by a matching eshay-esque haircut duo of doobie and jim as well as JT rocking a change in facial hair that had clearly vanished just like the beers he promised not to drink during oct...ober, the season sized up well with the other team and got off to a good start with a hot-handed ballard turning on one against their footy based defence. King Reados was putting in an absolute shift to grab boards and kick it out to open shooters that clearly had an allergic reaction to the net as the boys saw shot after shot rim out. Unlike a usual saturday night the boys struggled to nail many 3s but luckily with the help of clay’s banking services, clark kent and jim were able to hit a couple of crucial 3s to keep the fellas in the game. Ballard continued to dice through defenders like a 2017 Tuesday night at the ed, but unfortunately, even after a few late euro steps and quick buckets from JT and young reados, the seags unfortunately left the oven, keys in hand and straight home to cook our own schnitties.

08.01.2022 Soaring Eagles 41 - Haemoglobin Trotters 52 Rough summer opener for the boys last night. Norti Jordy out while his iPhone updated to the latest software, Jbell and Reados out with early bedtimes and Clay also out working the late shift at the olive oil factory. With all 3 big men out the Seag’s were undersized and undermanned. Brad Sipek did his best Reados impression filling in as the Seag’s inside muscle and handsome factor. Lacking Reados’ rippling pectorals the boys s...tarted the game behind the 8 ball, struggling to contain the Trotters 6’9 big man. With all the boys energies focused towards closing off the inside the Trotters took advantage by heating up from downtown like a crisp pair of Reados pants fresh out the dryer on a cold winters morning. 4 straight 3s from the Trotters and the fire risk that Maddy Henry has often feared from Mr Reade’s dryer had turned into a full blown disco inferno. Did somebody say Disco? At the mere mention Ballard appeared out of thin air. The shaggy dogs long promised return brought energy and hustle but even with the powers of his long sleeved rashie the Seag’s went into the main break down 15. The fellas made a push to start the second. Lakey’s 18 hole / 7 day a week golf endurance on full display with some top notch defence to get the boys rolling. Jim knocked down plenty of jumpers and Nath returned from a knee bump to drill a couple 3s but the boys couldn’t get within 10. Nothing but love between both sides after the game as Turner stuck a metaphorical middle finger to the covid guidelines and gave a double shakkas to peace and love - giving out postgame hugs to everyone involved.

04.01.2022 Soaring Eagles 49 - Laundry Club 30 A handsome looking scoreline for by-far the most handsome lineup the boys have ever rolled out. The fellas got off to an absolute flyer last night. Nath Reade knocked down 4 early triples to bamboozle the Laundry boys more than Norti Jordy realising he’d been deleting non-alcoholic beers at kick-ons for the past hour. The game was close for the majority of the 1st before Jim knocked down a couple of shots to send the boys into the break... up 5. Turner opened the second the same way he spends most of his weekends, euro-ing his way into the rack, and scoring a couple of times as well! The Seag’s played the ace up their sleeve rolling out a double max handsome factor combo of Brad Sipek and Matt Reade. Boy o boy if only last night had been ladies round. With the Laundry Club clearly distracted by the firm moustaches, perfect hair and rippling muscles Cool Papa JBell picked up a few loose balls and the boys could sniff that sweet smell of victory, or was it JBell’s delicious Lynx Africa body wash? Spirits were high heading into The Edinburgh Hotel & Cellars front bar and they only got higher with the discovery that the oft-maligned but dearly loved vegetarian burger had returned to the menu. A perfect end to a perfect evening.

04.01.2022 Soaring Eagles 39 - Milk Men 50 It was a hot night in the unley oven but it wasn’t the weather generating the heat... the boys were looking Ballard had a fresh Gold Coast tan, Jimmy a flowing mullet, jbell in new wheels, nath in his sisters blue bball kicks, jordy tradie boots and reados glowing from his recent awards night. However, the heat didn’t transfer to the court. The boys fought hard to be within striking distance at half time. Some reados squared running and h...ustling was fruitful but the team 3 point shooting came up empty like turners dry October attempt. Jordy had the play of the game with a beautiful spin cycle and 1, almost as beautiful as beer coming out of his nose at west beach surf life saving club. With no captain buff (out with covid-69) the seags couldn’t get it done. The The Edinburgh Hotel & Cellars was lovely beergarden weather. Despite doubling the average age, the boys still looked cool with their vape. Unfortunately the crowd found us way less cool after jbell explained his favourite meal was microwaved potato.
