19.01.2022 We would very much like to wish the gentleman of our Australian skies a happy 80th birthday today! Ingo you continue to inspire pilots from all over the world and are truly a treasure to our sport. Best wishes for today

18.01.2022 We are so shocked and so very deeply saddened to learn that, one of our members and long-time amazing friend, Tom Claffey, passed away today. RIP Tom. You will be so deeply missed. Following is The announcement from Toms wife and our club member, Kerrie: Thomas Philip Claffey 12 Nov 1963 - 25 Jul 2019... Last Tuesday while out cycling, Tom suffered a massive heart attack and cardiac arrest. Despite immediate CPR by the bike shop guys, 7 cycles of electric shock and compressions by 4 paramedics in 2 ambulances, quick transport to RPA hospital, connection to ECMO heart/lung bypass life support and industrial quantities of drugs, Tom's heart would only pulse and never regained proper pumping function. Today after 48 hrs on ECMO, tests and assessments showed no heart or brain function. So this evening life support was switched off. Tom was cheated of his retirement dreams of gliding, sailing, 4w driving and fishing. I'm cheated of growing old with the love of my life, husband, best friend and soul-mate. Thank you for all your wishes, messages of support and offers of help. (No one was supposed to know yet!) I will definitely need some help as I start to attend to the enormity of tasks ahead but for now I probably need some down time in my hole. xxx See more
