This will now align us with other soccer competitions and associations. Everyone is invited to attend the Special General Meeting to be held on the 28th of October( venue and time to be confirmed) and we will require people to register their intention to attend in-line with COVID-19 planning. At the meeting we also need to appoint some interim positions to our committee until we can hold our AGM. The positions we need to fill are: Secretary Minis Coordinator General Committee Members. For info on these roles you can contact us at [email protected] We will also be looking for more families to contribute to the running of this season as we will need to be working inline with COVID-19 management plans and each club will need to have a minimum of 2 COVID marshalls for each club and at least one of those will need to be present at all trainings and games. Team managers are the conduit of information between the SPAI committee and the players of the clubs. We will be endeavouring to better use technology to get information out to our members this year through our Team Managers. I know there are a lot of people who have been waiting to know whether we are going ahead or not and we do apologise for the delays and we will endeavour to make this a great season along with everyone’s help. 05.01.2022 It is with great regret that Soccer Port Augusta inc need to advise everyone that the FFA (Football Federation Australia) has place a 4 week suspension on all grassroots football from 12:00am 18/03/2020 or midnight tonight. This means that we can no longer continue to play as we operate under FFA guidelines/ governance. We will advise all registered members in the next week what will happen with the end of the season. We know this upsetting to a lot of people and we understand this but we cannot go against the FFA. The FFA circular is attached to this post. We hope everyone understands. 01.01.2022 UPDATE ON 2020 SEASON. Apologies for the delay in posting this: It gives me great pleasure to announce that the special general meeting that took place on Wednesday night agreed to go ahead with the season this year (subject to finalising the use of Chinnery Park). The numbers of people who expressed interest to play was slightly lower for some clubs but we are expecting this to pick up now that the season is a definite go ahead ( we have discussed contingencies in case we do...n’t achieve the full number of players per team that we normally play with). The season will kick off with a come and try/ scratch match/ registration night on the 20th of November. For people wanting to register to play please go to www.SPAI.com.au if you are a new player you can sign up under the new registration section and if you have already registered last season you will just need to go in and renew your membership and ensure all of your details are still correct. There will be no paper registrations this year it will all be done online at www.SPAI.com.au To ensure correspondence is recieved you will need to make sure you enter in a valid email address that you can receive correspondence to. For those that don’t have their own email address a family member of friends email will be fine as long as you can get the information from them. Although we have not been informed of the costs for the use of Chinnery Park for this season, as a committee we are planning to keep the fees the same as last year with no increases. So the registration fees remain as: Minis $40.00 Junior player $90.00 2nd child payment $70.00 Subsequent family member (junior) $50.00 To be eligible for the 2nd child and subsequent child fees the children must be all of the same family. We will also be accepting again the school sports vouchers. If you have any questions you can contact us on here or via [email protected] I would like to thank all those that could attend the Special General Meeting on Wednesday and I would also like to thank those that put there hands up to fill the vacancies on our committee. Thank you all for you ongoing support to this great sport. Regards Quinton Kessner SPAI President
