23.01.2022 This week at SEDA we were lucky enough to have as our guest lecturer Gary McDarby, Hobart Enterprize chief executive, who spoke about the many innovative ways that technology can be used to tackle educational disadvantage. It was fascinating for students hear about Gary's involvement in ICT projects that engage with disadvantaged youth, such as the Computer Clubhouse in Ireland. We encourage students to find out more about Gary's work closer to home, in particular check out Enterprize Hobart and Enterprize Launceston to see what's currently happening in Tasmania's start-up community!

09.01.2022 At SEDA this week as we focus on scaling up socially entrepreneurial impact, it’s worth checking out this advice for social entrepreneurs: to move beyond organisational scale to systemic scale. According to the Schwab Foundation, systems change is fundamentally, and on a large scale, changing the way a majority of relevant players solve a big social challenge such that a critical mass of people affected by that problem substantially benefit.
