24.01.2022 Our candidates Pip Hinman, Markela Panegyres and Steffi Leedham were part of a Newtown #ProtectOurFutureNotGas action on Nov 28.
21.01.2022 Protect our future not gas ‘highway action’ in Newtown/Gadigal land this morning before the extreme heat. Thanks to Sydney Knitting Nannas and Friends and water activists for your support. Solidarity with the Gomeroi nation who are standing firm against Santos industrial-scale gas project. City and country stand together to say gas is no solution to the country's economic woes and dangerous climate change #ProtectOurFuture #NoCoalSeamGas
20.01.2022 Whatever the other issues are here, the big issue is that an unelected official (the CEO) is paid $440,000 annually. That is wrong, and it reflects how far councils have gone down the neoliberal road. Councils may well need managers and they certainly need a lot more staff, but not at that sort of price.
16.01.2022 Locals joined a solidarity action with the global School Strike 4 Climate in Newtown this morning. Singer-songwriter activist Patrick Harte provided excellent fossil-fuel-free songs and Greens MP for Newtown Jenny Leong also showed up to support. There was lots of support from passers-by, toots from vehicles and heaps of likes on neighbourhood FB groups.
10.01.2022 More evidence that NSW police has been given orders to harass left-wing activists: they targetted a small safe speak-out in Newtown outside the local court where student activist Adam Adelpour was listed for mention.

09.01.2022 Today: hook into the discussions about system change
08.01.2022 The 'highway action' in Newtown against the gas-fired recovery on Sat Nov 28 has been shifted to a cooler time 9-10am. More than a little ironic? Also, the federal government's signed off on Santos' industrial-scale gas plans for the Narrabri as a bushfire was raging out of control in the Pilliga Forest (where the gas wells are). Come along with your sign. No gas! We need real climate action now.
05.01.2022 It’s not credible to believe that the Premier isn’t tainted by turning a blind eye (or worse) to corruption.
02.01.2022 Food delivery (‘gig’) riders need rights.
